Smartphone design trends have gone through many stages and changed dramatically over the last two years. The thick border screen is no longer available, replaced by thinner bezel borders on all four sides, thanks to the "rabbit ears" design, "water droplets" and "perforated" screens.

Even some manufacturers have switched to the sliding mechanism, the selfie camera "sneezes" to minimize and bring the screen area ratio to almost occupy the entire front. However, perhaps that is not enough. The next destination that smartphone manufacturers are aiming for is "selfie cameras under the screen" and Xiaomi is one of them.
Recently, Xiaomi has been granted a patent for a smartphone with selfie camera under the screen. This patent was filed by the company in November 2018, indicating that the camera is located behind the screen with light sensor.
Photos come in Xiaomi's new patent.
The short description included in the patent states that there will be a secondary screen placed below the main screen. The light sensor works with both screens, where the camera can appear at the required times and is hidden when not in use.
There are rumors that the camera selfie under the screen will be the trend of smartphone design in the second half of this year or later next year. A few weeks ago, there were also reports that OPPO will launch a smartphone with a hidden camera under the screen later this year. This may be a pioneering device for this new design.
