A few days ago, leaked information showed that Xiaomi will launch a new version of Xiaomi Mimoji along with Mi CC9 smartphone models. As soon as this information was published, many Chinese bloggers accused Xiaomi of copying Apple's Memoji feature, which allows you to create animated characters that can be customized to resemble you.

Recently, Xiaomi issued a statement confirming that they did not copy Apple's features. Besides, Xiaomi also threatened to sue those who continue to release false information related to Xiaomi.

Xiaomi Community General Manager, Mr. Xu Jieyun, also made another statement stating that Xiaomi first launched this feature from May 5, 2018 and its English name that Mimoji, the APK package name is also Mimoji. Xu Jieyun also stated that June 5, 2018, the new Apple officially used the name Memoji. Moreover, in terms of logic functions these two products are very different.

Xu Jieyun further shared that Xiaomi spent a day for internal inspection before making necessary announcements. Every proof proves that Xiaomi does not copy Apple's features have been fully prepared before the above statement was made.

Xiaomi asks those who claim that they copied Apple's feature to give concrete evidence. If these people continue to spread false information without evidence, Xiaomi will proceed to file a lawsuit.
