Xiaomi and Realme waste no time. The leaders of the two companies have already mentioned that one of their smartphones will be equipped with the Snapdragon 875 in 2021.
The Snapdragon 875 is expected to be unveiled in December at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit. It will equip the most high-end phones next year.
Yesterday was an exciting day thanks to Apple’s Keynote. The Californian giant presented its new Apple Watch Series 6 and the new iPads. However, at the event they also showcased their brand new super powerful processor: A14 Bionic.
This is the first processor engraved in 5 nm. Compared to the A13 Bionic which equips the iPhone 11, it is 40% more efficient and 30% more powerful on the graphics part. However, it should soon come into competition with the upcoming Snapdragon 875, which promises to be a performance revolution.
Recently, we learned that Samsung was going to manufacture all of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 875s. These will equip the most high-end phones of 2021, and what we know is that they will not be affordable. Indeed, the Snapdragon 875 would cost 100 dollars more than the Snapdragon 865, which had already made the prices of Android smartphones soar in 2020.
Redmi and Realme announce that at least one of their smartphones will be equipped
Shortly after the Keynote, Lu Weibing, CEO of Redmi, was quick to respond. By asking his followers if they were waiting for a new processor engraved in 5nm, this one of course refers to the Snapdragon 875 from Qualcomm. It should equip the Redmi K40 Pro at the start of 2021, which should be marketed in France as successor to the Poco F2 Pro, equipped with the Snapdragon 865.
Realme Chief Marketing Officer Xu Qi Chase also announced that one of Realme’s ranges will be equipped with this new processor. According to the image he posted on his account, a new range could even see the light of day especially for the occasion.
