Windows specific shortcuts
With the Windows key
Windows key + E: opens the File Explorer;
Windows key + R: starts the Run command;
Windows key + S: opens the Search command;
Windows key + L: blocks the session in use;
Windows key + M: minimizes the window in progress;
Windows key + X: opens the Quick Link menu;
Windows key + Pause: opens the System Information Panel;
Windows key + D: minimizes all windows and displays the desktop;
Windows key + Tab: visualizes the open windows and virtual desktops.
With the ALT key
Alt + F4: close the running window or program;
Alt + space bar: displays the context menu of the running window;
Alt + space bar + N: minimizes the running window;
Alt + space bar + F: closes the running window;
Alt + PrintScreen: takes a screen capture of the running window;
Alt + Tab: switch between open windows.
With the CTRL key
Ctrl + Alt + Del: activates the options screen when a software or the PC crashes;
Ctrl + Shift + Esc: opens the task manager;
Ctrl + Esc: opens the Start menu;
Ctrl + dragging an element: copies the selected element.
In file management and in almost all software
Ctrl + A: select everything;
Ctrl + B: organizes Internet Favorites;
Ctrl + C: copy;
Ctrl + F: search for texts in the file or in the Internet browser;
Ctrl + H: replace text;
Ctrl + N: create a new file and / or open a new window;
Ctrl + O: opens a document;
Ctrl + P: print;
Ctrl + S: saves;
Ctrl + v: glue;
Ctrl + W: closes the running window (= Alt + F4);
Ctrl + X: cut;
Ctrl + Y: repeats the action that has just been canceled;
Ctrl + Z: cancel the last action.
In word processing software
Ctrl + N: make the selected text bold;
Ctrl + U: underline the selected text;
Ctrl + I: put the selected text in italics;
Tab: moves the entire selection one tab to the right;
Ctrl + Home: go back to the beginning of the open document;
Ctrl + End: go to the end of the open document;
Ctrl + right arrow: takes the insertion point to the beginning of the next word;
Ctrl + left arrow: takes the insertion point to the beginning of the previous word;
Ctrl + down arrow: takes the insertion point to the beginning of the next paragraph;
Ctrl + up arrow: takes the insertion point to the beginning of the previous paragraph.
In Windows Media Player
Alt + 1 (2 or 3): zoom 50%, 100% and 200%, successively;
Alt + Enter: switches to Full Screen mode;
Esc: exits Full Screen mode;
Alt + left arrow: go back in the browsing history;
Alt + right arrow: move forward in the browsing history;
Ctrl + 1: switches to Full Screen mode;
Ctrl + 2: change the appearance;
Ctrl + B: previous (element or chapter);
Ctrl + F: next (element or chapter);
Ctrl + H: enable / disable random reading;
Ctrl + i: enable / disable repetition;
Ctrl + M: show / hide traditional menus (menu bar);
Ctrl + N: create a new selection;
Ctrl + O: opens a file;
Ctrl + P: reading and / or pausing;
Ctrl + S: for reading CTRL + S;
Ctrl + U: specifies a URL or a file path;
F2: renames the selected element;
F3: add media files to the library;
F5: updates the information;
F6: increases the size of the pouch;
F7: disables the volume;
F8: decrease the volume;
F9: increase the volume.
