Let's check out which iOS 13 will be compatible with iPhone / iPad in the upcoming update.
Being officially announced at WWDC 2019 event on Monday, iOS 13 will be the next operating system update for Apple iPhone and iPad devices in the near future. Besides the redesigned interface, iOS 13 offers Dark Mode options on the system, Photos applications are refreshed and the ability to customize more for Emoji. iOS is released every year and released at the same time as new iPhone models. So in the second half of this year, it is possible that iOS 13 will be installed with the iPhone 13 while the old iPhone models will be updated for free. However, not all devices will be supported with this new version.
iPhone is compatible with iOS 13:
- iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR
- iPhone X
- iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus
- iPhone SE
- iPod touch (7th generation)
However, this time, the iPad will not use the iOS operating system anymore but according to the content of WWDC, the new iPadOS is the official name. iPadOS introduces slide and split view for multitasking, a new main screen including the ability to pin widgets and gestures to edit text.
iPadOS will be compatible with the following devices:
- 12.9-, 11-, 10.5- and 9.7-inch iPad Pro
- iPad (sixth generation)
- iPad (fifth generation)
- iPad mini (fifth generation)
- iPad mini 4
- iPad Air (third generation)
- iPad Air 2
