What is CPA?

Not only is it recognized in Vietnam, CPA Vietnam is also partly recognized by the Association of Certified Public Accountants of the UK (ACCA) and CPA Australia. Holders of CPA Vietnam will be exempted from 4/14 exam subjects when taking ACCA and 3/12 exemption when going to get Australian CPA. Who is required to have a CPA auditor certificate?

A regular auditor will not be required to have CPA certificate. However, if you do the following, you are required to have a CPA certificate.

– Legal representative, Director or General Director (limited liability company with 2 members or more, partnerships), business owners of auditing companies;

– Capital-contributing members of 2 or more member limited liability companies providing accounting services;

– Auditors in partnerships and private enterprises (partnerships or private enterprises need at least 5 auditors with CPA auditor certificate when registering for establishment).

Conditions to take the exam to get the CPA auditor certificate

Participants taking CPA auditor’s certificates must meet the following conditions:

– Having professional ethics, being honest, obeying the law;

– Having university or graduate degree in major of Finance, Banking, Accounting, Auditing; Or have a bachelor’s degree in other majors studying Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Financial Activity Analysis, Taxation and the number of lessons these subjects must account for over 7% of the total number of lessons of the whole course;

– Have worked in finance, accounting and auditing for at least 60 months, or have worked as assistant auditor for at least 48 months from the graduation month. University or graduate degree up to the time of registration for the exam;

– For those who already have accounting practice certificates, want to take the exam to get the CPA auditor certificate, in addition to the above conditions, they can only take the exam after full 2 ​​years with accounting practice certificate.

What are the conditions for obtaining a CPA auditor certificate?

Participants in the CPA auditor’s certificate must have achieved 38 points or more (except for foreign language subjects to be considered only), in which each subject must not lower than 5 points with the following subjects:

– Economic law and Enterprise law;

– Advanced finance and financial management;

– Tax and advanced tax management;

– Financial accounting, advanced management accounting;

– Auditing and advanced assurance services;

– Advanced financial analysis;

– Foreign Language (Level C): Choose 1 of 5 languages ​​English, Russian, French, Chinese, German.

For holders of accounting practice certificates who want to take the exam to get the CPA auditor certificate must reach 12.5 points or more (except for foreign language subjects to be considered only), in which each subject must not be under 5 points with the following subjects:

– Auditing and advanced assurance services;

– Advanced financial analysis;

– Foreign language (level C): 1 in 5 foreign languages ​​English, Russian, French, Chinese, German.

Time for each exam is 180 minutes. Particularly foreign language subject is 120 minutes.

Documents for examination of CPA auditor certificate

According to the provisions of Article 5, Circular 91/2017 / TT-BTC, the applicant for the audit practice certificate should submit the following documents:

For first time exam takers

1. Exam registration form:

– Certified by agency, unit where they are working or by People’s Committee of the locality where they reside.

– 1 color photo of size 3 × 4 and overlapping stamp

2. Authenticated copy of identity card or ID card or passport;

3. Curriculum vitae certified by the agency, unit where the person is working or the People’s Committee of the locality where he / she resides;

4. Copies of diploma specified in the exam conditions. If you are a graduate of another major, you must submit a certified transcript stating the details of all subjects. If the applicant submits a master’s or doctorate degree, he / she must submit a transcript stating the subject area of ​​the certification.

5. 3 color photos (3 × 4) taken within 6 months and 02 envelopes with stamps and the full name, address of the participant.

For those who continue taking subjects not yet tested or retake subjects that have not met the requirements

1. Exam registration form:

– Certified by agency, unit where they are working or by People’s Committee of the locality where they reside.

– 1 color photo (3 × 4) and sealed

2. Copies of Examination Certificate of the previous exams announced by the Exam Council;

3. 3 color photos (3 × 4) taken within 6 months and 02 envelopes with stamps and the full name, address of the participant.

For those who have accounting practice certificates want to take the exam to get the CPA Auditor Certificate

1. Exam registration form:

– Certified by agency, unit where they are working or by People’s Committee of the locality where they reside.

– 1 color photo of size 3 × 4 and overlapping stamp

2. Authenticated copy of identity card or ID card or passport;

3. Curriculum vitae certified by the agency, unit where the person is working or the People’s Committee of the locality where he / she resides;

4. Certified copy of the accounting practice certificate;

5. 3 color photos (3 × 4) taken within 6 months and 02 envelopes with stamps and the full name, address of the participant.

Candidates registering to take the auditor’s certificate should send the documents to the Examination Council established by the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam at least 30 days before the exam date.
