Claude Bigras was indeed filmed by a surveillance camera at the time of his offense.

“This camera had been installed a few months ago because the suspect had already observed the girl in the past and had been seen by citizens,” the police said in a statement.

The broadcast of images on social networks by the mother helped identify Claude Bigras as the alleged perpetrator of this act of voyeurism.

The Saint-Jérôme man was arrested at his home the next day.

Bigras appeared by telephone and remained detained pending further legal proceedings. He faces charges of voyeurism, stalking and trespassing at night.

Investigators believe that Claude Bigras may have repeated his little ride elsewhere in the municipality. Anyone who may have been a witness or victim of this individual is invited to contact the Saint-Jérôme police investigators, at 450 432-3000 ext. 2301.
