Vivo is expected to take the wraps off a new mid-range smartphone allegedly called Vivo S5. The smartphone is expected to feature a quad-camera system at its rear. The smartphone is expected to be launched in the company’s home market China initially.
A few days back, the name of the device and its rear design were revealed in a teaser by Vivo’s brand ambassador for the S series smartphones and Chinese rapper Cai Xukun. Now, a new teaser video has surfaced on Weibo and it confirms that the S series smartphone will be launched soon. It also confirms the Vivo S5 moniker.
Vivo S5 Teaser
The Vivo S5 teaser shows the tagline “Illuminate your beauty”. This tagline is in line with the previous smartphones launched under the S series – Vivo S1 and Vivo S1 Pro. At the time of launch, these smartphones were touted to be self-centric smartphones.
While the specifications of the upcoming Vivo smartphone are yet to be revealed, the teaser shows the diamond pattern hump on the rear of the device to house the quad-camera setup. It also suggests that Vivo is emphasizing on both the selfie camera and rear camera as well. There are speculations that the quad-camera module will have a 64MP primary sensor to keep up with the industry trends.
As of now, the front camera details of the Vivo S5 remain unknown. However, the teaser images have revealed the rear design of the smartphone. There seems to be no physical fingerprint sensor at the rear and no cutout for a pop-up camera module. These aspects make us believe that there could be a notch at the front or a punch-hole design to house the front camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Our Take On Vivo S5
It looks like the Vivo S5 will adhere to all the latest trends in the smartphone industry with a quad-camera module at its rear, a gradient design targeted at the young users and more. As of now, Vivo has not revealed when exactly this device will be launched. Given the rise in the number of leaks pertaining to this smartphone, we can expect it to be announced soon.
