VinSmart Research and Production Company recently announced that it has agreed to cooperate with Fujitsu Technology Company (Fujitsu Group – Japan) and Qualcomm Group (USA) to develop smart phones. 5G.
Under this agreement, VinSmart and its partners Fujitsu and Qualcomm will cooperate to develop a special 5G model with Vsmart brand, using Qualcomm's 5G modem and technologies for battery saving, IP68 waterproof, Fujitsu's optimal 4G + 5G antenna system.

Noticeably, Vsmart's 5G smartphone will be produced in Vietnam ("Made in Vietnam"), specifically in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park (Hanoi). However, Vietnam is not specifically listed by VinSmart on the list of countries that this 5G smartphone model will sell. Instead, this model is expected to be available in the US, Europe and "other global markets" in April 2020. Thus, it will take nearly 1 year before we know more specific information about this model.

In 2019, Vsmart said it plans to introduce about 10 new smartphones along with other smart devices. On June 10, Vsmart smart phone factory was also started at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park (Thach That, Hanoi). The first phase of the plant is expected to be completed on August 15, 2019 with a capacity of 23 million units per year. When fully completed in early 2020, this factory can ship 125 million units per year.
