Apple is increasingly aggressive with the iPhone network lock (iPhone Lock). More than a month ago, Apple changed the activation mechanism, so that iPhone Lock could work, requiring a SIM inserted in the machine, not simply changing the SIM as before.
In some cases, iPhone Lock must update to the latest version of iOS 12 to be able to activate, making some older devices like iPhone 5 or 5c unable to use them because they cannot upgrade to iOS 12.
On May 14, Apple officially released the iOS 12.3 update with some new features and software bug fixes. However, this latest update does not allow iPhone Lock to change the ICCID code directly on the device to activate it on the home screen.
ICCID is a 20-digit number that is entered into the device to “trick” the system that it is using the SIM of the correct carrier, thereby activating the iPhone Lock.
For iPhone Lock to work, it is necessary to have an ICCID code.
To overcome the situation of changing the ICCID code directly on the activation screen, users in Vietnam can insert a paired SIM to an international phone and change the SIM application directly in the settings, then reinsert it to the Lock device. to activate.
Currently, when using iPhone Lock is more and more difficult than before (a complicated process of using, now requires an international iPhone to activate), the price of this device has plummeted in the Vietnamese market. iPhone XS Max Lock is now only about 17 million, previously priced at more than 20 million.
iPhone XS Max Lock version has decreased to just over 17 million dong.
In the future, Apple will certainly make even more drastic moves to prevent the use of iPhone Lock.
