Xiaomi is planning to launch a line of smartwatches running its own operating system called MIUI for Watch. The company is constantly sharing information about this smartwatch line on Weibo.
Xiaomi shared that it will have an event on November 5 and this is the appearance of the new smartwatch. It has a rectangular face similar to the Apple Watch, the glass is curved out the edges but the side is more square. The right side of the clock has a rotary knob similar to the Apple Watch but there is one more button, at the other side is the speaker and mic. The bottom of the watch has sensors that can serve a variety of functions like heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring, and the interchangeable strap.
Inside this watch will be the Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor – Qualcomm's latest generation of SoC for smartwatches, fully supporting Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, haptic motor and Xiaomi also. Referring to eSIM – this watch can support independent calling like smartphones.
The operating system of this watch is MIUI for Watch and it has its own app store. Xiaomi confirms MIUI for Watch is developed separately, not based on WearOS.
