Accordingly, the issuance of flight permits to Bamboo Airways has reached a high consensus from the representatives of ministries, branches and localities attending. “The Prime Minister agreed on the policy and assigned the Ministry of Transport to consider, evaluate and license the airline for this airline,” said Minister – Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung.
Previously, the Ministry of Transport had sent a written request to the Prime Minister to consider and permit the Ministry to issue air transport business licenses to Bamboo Airways, because after conducting the appraisal, the Ministry found that the lake Bamboo Airways’ profile is complete and valid, meeting capital conditions, plans to ensure that aircraft are available for operation, organizational structure, business plans and product development strategies according to Decree 92, in accordance with in accordance with airline branding regulations under Decree 30.
The Ministry of Transport also highly appreciated the orientation of exploiting routes for tourism development of Bamboo Airways, including inter-regional routes connecting Vietnam’s tourism destinations with each other, with major cities. such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as with other countries in the region.
According to the Ministry of Transport, this orientation will create new products, new markets, enhance the competitiveness of the market and increase choices for passengers, and at the same time be suitable for the aviation enterprise plan. Prime Minister approved.
Previously, Bamboo Airways received the decision to approve the investment policy announced by the Government on July 9 this year.
“With the government-approved KDVCHK license on November 8, all final preparations for the airline’s first flight scheduled for the end of the fourth quarter of this year have been completed,” said Dang Tat. Thang, General Director of Bamboo Airways said.
The first aircraft of Airbus A319, A320 series are being finalized in design, final installation in Turkey and the Philippines by Bamboo Airways, ready to be available in Vietnam. Test flight results also show that the aircraft fully meets the specifications, ready to go into operation.
It is expected that Bamboo Airways will bring to Vietnam right this year about 20 aircraft and add 20 – 30 more aircraft in 2019, to serve the operational plans that have been set. New aircraft from two contracts worth $ 8.8 billion signed with Airbus and Boeing are expected to be delivered from 2020.
As planned, the airline will operate about 100 routes connecting all major cities and famous tourist destinations in Vietnam and internationally. The first domestic routes are expected to be Hanoi – Quy Nhon, Hanoi – Dong Hoi, Ho Chi Minh City – Quy Nhon, Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City, HCMC – Van Don … with the goal of reducing pressures on aviation infrastructure in major cities, simultaneously strengthening regional links, raising Vietnam’s tourism on the international map.
