A group of Republican lawmakers have called for the sanction of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for failing to comply with the new security check rules.
According to The Hill, in a letter to interim House order maintenance officer Timothy Blodgett, a group of Republicans on the US House of Representatives, asked to punish Mrs. Pelosi for not complying with the new regulations issued by her.
“Yesterday, at around 9:59 a.m. (US time), many senators found the Speaker of the House of Representatives entering the conference room without completing a security check. This violates Resolution No. 73 of The House of Representatives, and we demand that she be sanctioned like any other member of Congress, “the group of Representatives said.

Responding to the above petition, Mr. Timothy Blodgett said that the sanction of the above cases is under the jurisdiction of the US Congressional Police (USCP), and so far, he has not received any complaints from the USCP about the wrongdoing by Mrs. Pelosi.
Earlier this week, the US House of Representatives passed a resolution requiring all congressmen to pass through metal detectors installed by the USCP outside of the hall entrances.
Several Republican lawmakers, including MPs Lauren Boebert and Louie Gohmert, flatly rejected the resolution. This led House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to add a number of penalties for violations.
So far, two US congressmen have been fined $ 5,000 for violating new security rules. The next time they violate, their fine will increase to $ 10,000.
