The official Twitter account of the Mafia franchise has just emerged from its torpor after almost two years of deep sleep. It could well be the sign of the return of the series. Is a new Mafia game about to be announced?
Right now, this is the perfect opportunity for developers and publishers to announce new games. Big announcements will multiply before the arrival of next-gen consoles at the end of the year, the Xbox Series X and the PS5. For example, Ubisoft has formalized the release of its new installment in the successful franchise, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Today, however, we are not talking about an announcement that all players expect, but rather a surprise. If you remember, the video game distribution company Take-Two Interactive had deposited logos of the Mafia brand a few months ago. This strongly suggested thata new episode of the franchise was in preparation, probably Mafia 4.
The Mafia 4 game unveiled tomorrow?
The editor of Mafia, 2K Games, which is also the subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive, may well be preparing us a big surprise. Just a few hours ago, the franchise’s official Twitter account posted a tweet. This one puts us in the ear since it’s been almost two years since the account was completely frozen. The tweet gets straight to the point with one word: ” Family ” It was also pinned, which proves its importance.
Family. This completely unexpected statement obviously makes one think of an imminent announcement of a new title in the series. Hopefully, it could even be Mafia 4 since it is most certainly in development. Or, this is a remastered version or a remake of Mafia 2 and or Mafia 3. Furthermore, Mafia 2 will soon be celebrating its tenth anniversary, so this is an opportunity to celebrate the anniversary.
Anyway, Mafia’s account tweet is definitely a teaser. We don’t know what he’s trying yet, but it should be soon. Important video game announcements will multiply with the Summer Game Fest which just started on May 7 with Inside Xbox. The publisher 2K Games is also part of the event which will be held until August. Furthermore, a surprise video game will be revealed tomorrow, Tuesday May 12, at 6 p.m., French time. So we should be quickly fixed if this is a new Mafia game.
