Poo-Pourri Before-You-Go Toilet Spray

Everybody poops, but most of us don’t want to take out a billboard announcing our bowel movements every time we head to the bathroom for our daily (or three times a day, we don’t know your regularity) deposit. Thankfully, there’s a spray for that.

Ideally, your number two hits while you’re in your number one place at home, but what about situations when you have guests visiting, or are in the new phase of a relationship that hasn’t crossed into the ‘acknowledging our poops’ level of intimacy. There’s a spray for that.

Then there are the times when you can’t make it home and have to use the toilet at work (shudder), while traveling (ugh), or at someone else’s house (the worst). There’s a spray for that too and it’s small enough to carry in your pocket. It’s 2019 and no one needs to be embarrassed about their BM.

All three toilet sprays we’ve included work differently than traditional room sprays, which are spritzed throughout the room, covering furniture and appliances with a strong scent and sometimes an oily residue. Because the spray moves around the room, it’s also a giveaway that it was used, defeating the purpose of using a product that will make your stinky mess a discrete stinky mess. Using room sprays with oils can also be detrimental to your health, with some studies showing that oils sprayed into the air can sit in your lungs when breathed in.

Because we all go, here are three toilet sprays that will have you breathing easy.

1. Poo-Pourri Before-You-Go Toilet Spray

Scientifically tested, Poo-Pourri Before-You-Go Toilet Spray is a non-toxic spray that goes in the toilet before you go to create a relaxing and pleasing aroma.

Pros: Poo-Pourri is the bathroom spray that knows all your dirty little secrets and is helping you keep them hidden. The lavender vanilla spray is spritzed into the toilet bowl before you ‘sit down to catch up on reading,’ which means you don’t have a strong perfume scent hanging in the air, with Poo-Pourri creating a barrier and trapping the unpleasant odor in the toilet bowl under the surface of the water. We also like that the spray is made with essential oils and is chemical-free which makes it great for homes with children and pets.

Cons: Some customers noted that users will need four or five spritzes, which is more than the recommended three spritzes.

2. Mask Toilet Spray

Mask unpleasant odors with the Mask Toilet Spray, which creates a barrier to trap unpleasant smells in the toilet.

Pros: Mask uses Australian essential oils in their spray, giving off a pleasant and light coconut and lime spray that won’t overpower the room and broadcast the fact that you used toilet spray. The Mask three pack comes in 2-ounce leak-proof bottles that are perfect for traveling, which each bottle packing 560 sprays.

Cons: Mask recommends users spray their toilet six times before using it, which is more than Poo-Pourri.

3. Squatty Potty Unicorn Gold Toilet Spray

Using colloidal gold, the Squatty Potty Unicorn Gold Toilet Spray targets the sulfur that makes bowel movements smell, trapping the odor under the toilet water. Pretty smart and scientific for a unicorn.

Pros: The Unicorn Gold uses Potty Lock technology (it’s a thing!) to seal the waterline of the toilet, trapping the bad smell and releasing the pleasant smell of the spray’s essential oils. The Unicorn Gold uses non-toxic ingredients and gold nanoparticles to help eradicate bad smells. We also love that the brand has fun options like Fruity Booty and Tropical Dropsicle.

Cons: Some customers found that the Unicorn Gold scents were overpowering and lingered.
