Sony Vietnam on March 15 officially launched the new mirrorless model α6400 (ILCE-6400). The new model possesses a 0.02-second focus speed, which the company claims is the fastest in the world1 only 0.02 seconds. It also has new advanced features such as "Real-time Eye AF" (Real-time eye focus) and "Real-time Tracking" (Real-time Tracking).
The α6400's focus system inherits previous technologies that are only available on mirrorless cameras from Sony's full-frame sensor including α9, α7R III and α7 III.
The new camera series features 425 phase focus points and 425 focus points according to the dense contrast layout, covering about 84% of the frame area. This high-speed and high-performance focusing system combined with the new generation Bionz X processor allows the α6400 to take only 0.02 seconds to focus and focus on subjects, ensuring even fast subjects Most can also be captured and saved.
α6400 also introduces the "Real time Eye AF" – Focusing on real-time eyes. The new feature uses artificial intelligence (AI) to identify objects and process eye data in real time, thereby improving accuracy, speed and sharpening performance.

In all auto focus modes, the camera can now automatically detect the subject's eyes and activate Eye AF mode when lightly pressing the shutter key, and when in AF-C mode or AF- A, the photographer can choose the subject's right eye or left eye as the focus point.
The Eye AF feature for animals will be added in the summer of 2019 through a software update, optimized for wildlife photographers.
Also featured on the α6400 is the "Real-time Tracking" feature developed by Sony. This feature uses the latest Sony algorithm including subject identification using artificial intelligence (AI) and color handling, subject distance (depth), form (brightness) in the form of messages believe in space to separate subjects with impressive accuracy.
Besides, when taking photos or recording human or animal videos, face and eye position information will be recognized by the AI and the subject's eyes are monitored in real time with extremely high accuracy.
In terms of overall shooting speed, Sony's new camera can reach 11 frames per second with full auto focus / metering when using mechanical shutter, and 8 frames per second with count Auto focus / metering function in silent shooting mode.
At each speed, it can capture up to 116 JPEG Standard / 46 frames of compressed RAW frames to increase the ability to capture the most perfect moment.
The Sony α6400 has an APS-C size 24.2 MP sensor combined with the new-generation Bionz X processor. The standard ISO range reaches 32,000 for both shooting and videography, and can expand to 102,400 for still images, combined with noise reduction algorithms and high light sensitivity.
The versatile α6400 camera can shoot 4K (QFHD: 3,840 x 2,160) utilizing all the pixels on the sensor and absolutely no pixel filtering algorithm.
Fast and stable autofocus feature for video recording with Fast Hybrid AF technology (high-speed hybrid focus) ensures the subject is always in the focus area, even when an object passes past lens. This focusing system combined with the α6400 touchscreen display has become the choice for vloggers and video makers who regularly create and post content online.
The new highlight on the α6400 is a 3-inch 921,000-dot LCD screen that can flip 180 degrees, helping to frame the picture when taking photos or recording videos in a selfie style.
The α6400's LCD monitor also supports touch features, with the new Touch Pad, Touch Focus, Touch Shutter and Touch Tracking options that enable real-time focus via the touch screen.
Sony's new line also features Tru-finder XGA OLED viewfinder, with 89 features that can be assigned to 8 custom keys, featuring new My Dial and My Menu features.
The body is also constructed of magnesium alloy, dust-proof and water-resistant as well as durable shutter to 200,000 shots.
