Vincent Beaudry, 36, was formally charged with sexual assault and breach of probation. On June 29, he allegedly went up to the fourth floor to break into the bedroom of two vulnerable elderly ladies and commit assault.

By broadcasting the images from the surveillance cameras a few days ago, the Sherbrooke Police Department hoped to receive help from the public. The 36-year-old was finally arrested last Friday.

Relatives of the residents of the Youville CHSLD met by TVA Nouvelles said they were very worried about the situation.

The Estrie health authorities reacted by means of a press release.

“These situations are taken very seriously. The safety and well-being of our residents is a priority for our establishment. We fully cooperated in the police investigation. An internal investigation was initiated in order to fully understand what happened and put in place corrective measures, if necessary, to prevent such a situation from recurring. ”
