Samsung launches Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion with QLED display, wireless reverse charging

During the SDC 2019 event taking place yesterday in the US, Samsung launched two new laptop models called the Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion.

In particular, these are the first laptops in the world to be equipped with QLED displays – the display technology that is only available on high-end Samsung TVs. Even the South Korean company has added Wireless PowerShare wireless reverse charging for these two devices, which can charge compatible Qi, Galaxy Buds and wearable devices by placing them on the touchpad.

Samsung has partnered with Intel to launch Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion as two devices under "Project Athena", an innovative development program launched by Intel with well-known manufacturers in the industry to open a New era for laptops. That, both are high-end laptops and are powered by 10th-generation Intel Core processors, supporting Thunderbolt 3 and Intel Wi-Fi 6.

One of the main differences between Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion is the hinge. As the name implies, the Galaxy Book Flex has a 360-degree hinge, allowing users to use 2 in 1, in both laptop and tablet form. It has an aluminum body with a blue paint on the outside. In addition, the device also supports new gesture controls of the S-Pen pen and powerful optimization, including the PENUP feature.

The Galaxy Book Ion retains the design of an ordinary laptop with a lightweight magnesium frame. The product is extremely suitable for those who often travel a lot, because it is only 12.9 / 14.9mm thick and weighs less than 1kg.
