Russian soldiers were promptly present, preventing the fight between the Syrian army and the rebels
On April 4, a group of soldiers of the Syrian National Defense Force (NDF) opened fire on Kuray-led militant militants in the Al-Qamishli district of Al-Hasakah province.
According to AMN news, initial reports showed that NDF members opened fire on vehicles carrying the Asayish force, the US-backed and Kurdish-led organization. As a result, Asayish’s vehicle was damaged.
The cause of the clash has not been announced. Thankfully, the Russian military police force was on hand to prevent tensions between the NDF and Asayish escalating.
In addition, there have been no reports of further fighting between NDF and Asayish after the Russian army was present.
Previously, NDF and Asayish had repeatedly attacked each other in Qamishli and Hasakah. However, thanks to the intervention of the YPG and the Syrian army, the tension between NDF and Asayish cooled.
Some sources said the cause of the fighting was due to NDF requiring Kurdish forces to withdraw weapons from Al-Qamishli district. But then, the two sides clashed again.
In a video posted on social networks, armored vehicles of the Russian military police were on the scene to prevent conflict. After that, the Kurdish car left the scene.
Some argue that this is a US-initiated conflict to prevent access to areas under the control of Russian and Syrian troops.
For a long time, the Russian military has not participated in any skirmish between the Kurds and the Syrian government forces.
