Cyberpunk 2077 has been in development for almost eight years by CD studio Projeckt RED, but the wait for players is finally coming to an end. In the meantime, here is all the info we could gather about this game.
Cyberpunk 2077 has its origins in the role-playing table game Cyberpunk 2020. It takes in particular the cyberpunk and dystopian universe, the places as well as the characters. The game developed by the Polish studio CD Projekt RED (also behind the series of games The Witcher, of which the fourth installment is in preparation) is also inspired by certain science fiction novels by William Gibson, or films like the iconic Blade Runner.
The result is a game solo action-RPG and in the open world, with an interesting story where we follow V, the protagonist. The soundtrack is composed by Marcin Przybyłowicz, already at work on The Witcher 3.

Cyberpunk 2077: the origins
The project was announced by the development studio in May 2012, its name Cyberpunk 2077 having been formalized the following October. It was developed alongside The Witcher 3, but CD Projekt has indicated from the start that the game will be released ” when he is ready“.
When in 2014 a part of the Cyberpunk 2077 development team was helping out the one in charge of The Witcher 3, whose release was imminent (2015), that necessarily slowed down the development of the game. , we were talking about a release date in 2015 or 2016.
We will have to wait until 2018 for the studio to really tell us about Cyberpunk 2077 in detail. The game is then playable in integrity (but far from being successful, many assets are still missing or to be improved), exclusively in first person view.
Will Cyberpunk 2077 be released on PS5, Xbox Series X, Switch?
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently expected on PC, but also on PS4 and Xbox One consoles. Development studio says monitor next-gen consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X), but remains focused on the current generation.
It is therefore absolutely not certain that the game will be available on console outside of PS4 and Xbox One, at least initially. CD Projekt RED also does not speak of a hypothetical availability on Google Stadia. On the other hand, The Witcher 3 having appeared on Switch quite recently, one wonders if Cyberpunk 2077 will drag its gaiters on the Nintendo console.

Cyberpunk 2077: when will multiplayer be available?
Cyberpunk 2077 is intended to be a single player, single player game. But CD Projekt also said it was working on another AAA game, Cyberpunk Multiplayer. The development work remaining on Cyberpunk 2077 however rejects a hypothetical Cyberpunk Multiplayer released after 2021.
Cyberpunk 2077: one of the most beautiful games of 2020?
In recent years, the publisher has shown us several teasers and videos of Cyberpunk 2077. We were first treated to a first teaser in 2013, a presentation at E3 2018, then a video revealing 48 minutes of the game in August 2018.
But it’s especially in June 2019, the E3, that a trailer for the game is presented. This reveals the presence of actor Keanu Reeves in Cyberpunk 2077, as a character in the game. Another video will be published later this year, with 48 minutes of gameplay, to the delight of the players awaiting the title.
Cyberpunk 2077: when is it coming out? At what price ?
Initially expected for 2015 or 2016 at the start of its development, Cyberpunk 2077 had a relatively long development period. From the start, the development studio announced that it would be released ” when he is ready“. The first real launch date announced was for April 16, 2020, on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
But CD Projekt RED announced in January 2020, via its Twitter account, that Cyberpunk 2077 was finally pushed back to September 17, 2020, in order to give developers time to refine the game and offer a product ” perfect“.
If its release is postponed, the price of Cyberpunk 2077 does not vary. Pre-order for a few months, it varies from 5 € between its PC version and the console versions. Same price however for collector’s editions: € 219.90. At this price, we are entitled to the game, of course, but also to a slew of goodies. There is a jumble of a statuette, an artbook, pins, a Night City guide, badges, a game compendium and more.
