Before Realme 8 Pro landed in Vietnam, I read many detailed reviews about her and I really couldn’t stop being impressed by this smartphone. Super beautiful camera, outstanding design and especially with excellent performance with Snapdragon 720G. Now I have the chance to hand the device and here will be a review of the Realme 8 Pro’s performance.

Configuration parameters of the Realme 8 Pro
Like many previous performance reviews that we performed, we take a quick look at the configuration parameters of the Realme 8 Pro before going into the detailed review. The specifications of the machine are as follows:
- CPU: Snapdragon 720G (based on 8 nm process and includes 8 cores).
- GPU: Adreno 618.
- RAM: 8 GB.
- Internal memory: 128 GB.
- Operating system: Realme UI 2.0 (based on the latest Android 11).
Through the set of parameters above, we can see that the Realme 8 Pro has a similar configuration with most competitors in the same segment. I took a look on the Mobile World page and saw many names using Snapdragon 720G like Realme 8 Pro, such as the predecessor Realme 7 Pro, Galaxy A52 4G or OPPO Reno4. So is the performance of Realme 8 Pro corresponding to the above competitors or more prominent like that?
How realistic gaming experience is Realme 8 Pro?
Like all previous performance reviews, I will evaluate the performance of Realme 8 Pro through today’s popular games: Lien Quan Mobile, Zing Speed Mobile, PUBG Mobile, Free Fire and Call of Duty Mobile. . For data related to each game such as FPS chart, graphics settings, I will leave it here for you to see.
Arena of valor
In this first game, my Realme 8 Pro did not encounter any difficulties at all, on the contrary, the machine also had a very stable battle of Lien Quan Mobile. In the graphics settings, Realme’s smartphone also allows me to enable High FPS and the image quality, detail quality or HD resolution are all above high levels.
Because Realme 8 Pro can enable High FPS in League of Legends Mobile, the pink FPS line (FPS chart) goes in a straight line and the fluctuation is very little. The feeling of climbing rank with Realme 8 Pro is very good guys, the control operations, general movement or skill execution, surfing the camera to view the map, … are all smooth, smooth and responsive. Super fast.
Zing Speed Mobile
When I switched to playing Zing Speed Mobile on Realme 8 Pro, I was a bit disappointed because the FPS in the game could not remain stable at 60. After a moment of thinking, I decided to sacrifice the quality. The picture in the game (reduced the graphics setting to low and turned off the HD display) and the results were much better. You can view and compare the two FPS charts here.
However, I do not know why the Snapdragon 720G on Realme 8 Pro cannot play Zing Speed Mobile at the highest graphics level. It could be that the game is not yet optimized for this smartphone or the Realme UI operating system is not yet optimized for the game. Whatever the reason, I still recommend that if you buy Realme 8 Pro to play Zing Speed Mobile, you should lower the graphics to get the best experience.
In the 3rd game PUBG Mobile, Realme 8 Pro can only play with FPS levels from 35-40, although the graphics settings in the game have been set down to a smooth level and the frame rate is extremely high. In fact, Realme 8 Pro can completely adjust the graphics in PUBG Mobile to even higher levels, but that will reduce the frame rate to about 30 FPS only.
But that’s okay guys, at least this machine does not experience FPS drop or lag during my game. The response speed of the in-game controls is relatively fast, with low latency. In general, I still accept the experience of playing PUBG Mobile on Realme 8 Pro.
Moving to the same genre as PUBG Mobile, Free Fire, Realme 8 Pro has shown a more positive face when the frame rate per second in the game is maintained at 60 FPS. In the graphics settings in the game settings, I feel not surprised when the device can be adjusted to the highest level (as shown below).
I think Free Fire’s graphics are not as heavy as PUBG Mobile, so Realme 8 Pro can easily fight stable at 60 FPS. All controls and effects in the game are very pleasing. I am completely satisfied with the Free Fire playing experience that Realme 8 Pro brings.
Call of Duty Mobile
Finally, the game has the heaviest graphics in the 5 games I test, Call of Duty Mobile. The Snapdragon 720G chip on the Realme 8 Pro allows me to set the graphics at a fairly high level (as shown below). But when I entered the battle, the FPS did not reach 60, so I decided to reduce the image quality in the game a bit.
After I reduced the image quality, the Realme 8 Pro was able to play Call of Duty at 60 FPS (compare FPS chart). Well, even though I have reduced the quality of the graphics, I see the details in the game are still extremely sharp. From characters, surroundings or shadow effects are still clearly reproduced.
Overview of the gaming part of Realme 8 Pro, I commented that the device can completely serve the entertainment needs of today’s gamers. Although in certain games, the device has not shown good performance, but at a price of less than 9 million VND, I cannot ask for anything more. During the process of playing 5 games continuously like that, my Realme 8 Pro just got a little warmer.
Realme 8 Pro’s performance score: Extremely impressive
Certainly the software performance scoring is one of the indispensable parts for smartphone performance reviews. That is why I used 3 software: GeekBench 5, 3DMark, PCMark to score the performance of Realme 8 Pro, giving you a more objective view of the performance of the machine. The results I obtained are as follows:
– GeekBench 5:
- Single point: 572 points.
- Multi-core score: 1,693 points.
- 2D graphic score (OpenGL ES 3.0): 403,199 points.
- 3D Graphics Score (Vulkan): 471,710 points.
– PCMark: 8,438 points.
As you have also seen, the Realme 8 Pro has a very impressive performance score and according to me, the results are consistent with the experience that the machine brings. However, the performance score is only for reference, and the actual experience is the most important. Therefore, if you have time, you should visit the Gioi Di Dong store nearest you to experience the test machine.
Battery life when fighting games on Realme 8 Pro
Certainly when we play a lot of games on smartphones, the phone’s battery will drop faster, with no exception with the Realme 8 Pro. But how long will the 4,500 mAh battery of this smartphone last with gaming? To answer that question, I have measured continuous gaming time on Realme 8 Pro, the conditions for me to test are as follows:
- Play a game from full to low.
- Screen brightness 100%.
- Plug in wired headphones throughout, the volume increases to 100%.
- Turn on WiFi and social media notifications.
- Do not activate battery saver, adaptive display, GPS and Bluetooth mode.
- Dot from 100% from the time of charging withdrawal to 0%.
Here are the results that I obtained:
So, except for the Free Fire game, Realme 8 Pro can completely play other games from 7 hours or more, those are very impressive timelines, right? Personally, I am a bit surprised with the time playing Call of Duty Mobile game and it seems that this game seems to have optimized well for Reamle 8 Pro.
Recently, our reviews on the performance of the Realme 8 Pro. Personally, I think this will be one of the choices worth considering if you are in need of a smartphone with good performance to play games. If you want me to do more detailed reviews about her, do not forget to leave your comments in the comments section below, thank you for taking the time to follow and care.
