Not long ago there was information that Nvidia is about to launch another Geforce GTX 16 series graphics card, the GTX 1650 Ti, but it looks like it will be two, not one. There will be another GTX 1660 SUPER to fill the high-end segment.
It is likely that this GTX 1660 SUPER will feature GDDR6 VRAM with a bandwidth of 14Gbps. In fact, this rumor comes from MyDrivers and is quite reliable.
Previously SUPER only appeared in the RTX series, but perhaps Nvidia is expanding it to lower-end models than the GTX Turing. This graphics card will be a bit stronger than the old GTX 1660 and the price can be kept the same or a little more, making it unmatched at about 6-7 million VND, meaning it appears more on PC sets. from 15-20 million VND, quite moderate for Vietnamese gamers.
In terms of configuration, the GTX 1660 SUPER will probably use the TU116-300 die chip just like its predecessor GTX 1660. Along with that are 1408 CUDA cores, 80 TMU and 48 ROP. The clock will definitely be improved further to create a great overall performance when combined with GDDR6.
Currently, the GTX 1660 has 6GB GDDR5 VRAM, running at 8 Gbps, so the GTX 1660 SUPER keeps the 6GB upgrade to GDDR6 and 14 Gbps will be more powerful. This RAM will communicate with the GPU via 192 bit bandwidth, reaching 336 GB / s.
However, the launch of the GTX 1660 SUPER will probably step on the previous GTX 1660 Ti when it comes close to performance. Even the price of the old product dropped a bit when the new graphics card was released, so the floor is the same at $ 250, the custom versions will be a bit more expensive, so keep the price of 6 – 7 million in Vietnam Male.
This is quite absurd because Nvidia will not kill the old product line by itself so it is likely that they will create an 'upgrade' or another alternative rather than maintain both.
The GTX 1660 SUPER is likely to hit the market in October 2019.
