Unlike the recent F-series or Reno, Oppo A-series focuses on the popular segment with a softer price. The launch of this 2020 version, Oppo made a stronger impression with the redesigned back, which is accompanied by a significant upgrade in configuration.
First is the product box, you can see how the packaging is very familiar over the years of Oppo machine.

A box with 2 compartments, with the top of the device and the bottom as accessories, includes a charger, a Type-C cable and headphones.
Oppo A9 2020 this time has two color versions: Purple Breakthrough and Passion Blue. The first impression is the color is very beautiful, the Passion Blue color that we hold in hand has little gradation, but it is very polished and creates wavy lines when changing the viewing angle.

The design of the camera assembly with the words Oppo running along the back creates a sense of direction borrowed from his brother Reno.

The words DESIGNED FOR A-SERIES, correct in this position on Reno are DESIGNED BY OPPO.

Power key with green accents.

The edge of the device is quite beautiful design with subtle light cuts, making a difference compared to other products in the same segment.

The rear camera cluster looks quite impressive with 4 cameras. Accordingly, 3 cameras are set as the center cluster, including a regular 48MP f / 1.7 camera and 1 8MP f / 2.2 ultrawide camera. The other camera will combine with a single camera on the right that has monochrome and artistic portraits. We will have a more in-depth review of this feature.

Oppo A9 2020 still has a fingerprint sensor on the back, just below the camera cluster. When testing, we found the device to unlock speed very fast, but the design in this area is still not very good.

The plastic interface between the fingerprint sensor and the camera is a bit thin, so when clicked there is a creaking feeling in that area, in addition to other positions, there is no problem. Maybe this is just a sample version, so it's still not perfect in terms of design.

The front of the A9 2020 is a fairly spacious screen with 6.5 inches. Because of its focus on the affordable price, of course, there won't be as many breakthroughs in screen design as in Reno, such as this screen is still in the water drop design rather than hiding the front camera into the slider module system.

16 MP front camera, fully equipped with the usual beauty mode of Oppo. Above the selfie camera is the speaker and also acts as a speaker to create a stereo dual speaker system, allowing users to experience greater volume and quality than before.

The device uses IPS LCD panel, the brightness is moderate and the viewing angle is quite wide, but the resolution is only HD +.

The bottom bezel is still thick so the overall is not really balanced.

In terms of hardware, the Oppo A9 2020 has a huge RAM of up to 8GB, accompanied by the use of a Snapdragon 665 processor with the ability to enable 4K video recording and slowmotion FullHD 120fps recording, which is usually only found in close-up devices. Premium or above.

Internal memory is also quite abundant with 128GB (still supports additional memory card slot), users can comfortably store music and movies to enjoy anywhere with this 6.5-inch screen.

Oppo still keeps the 3.5mm headphone port for the A9 2020, besides the USB-C charging port. The device uses a battery capacity of up to 5,000 mAh, but it is not equipped with fast charging capability as its higher-end models that users can only charge with 5V-2A bulbs attached.
