(Techz.vn) Finally, Bphone B86 also got Google Play Protect certificate through the latest BOS 8.8 update.
All generations of Bphone are equipped with the BOS platform developed by BKAV. Recently, BKAV has released the update BOS 8.8 for smartphone Bphone B86. Although not mentioned directly, this update gave Bphone Google Play Protect (GPP) certification.
Previously, at the time when BKAV launched Bphone B86, some users were concerned about this smartphone failing to achieve GPP certification. This makes it impossible to install some applications like Netflix. Because according to Google documentation, a device does not achieve GPP certification “Maybe not safe” and “Google apps may not be licensed and may not be real Google apps”.
Bphone B86 received GPP certificate after updating to BOS 8.8.
According to BKAV shared, Google’s GPP certificate is only granted to manufacturers who reach 1 million units / year. Meanwhile BKAV has not reached that number. In fact, some small manufacturers in Vietnam such as Mobiistar, Masstel, and Vsmart still achieve GPP certification.
Finally, BKAV also had to work hard with its partners to get its GPP certificate. And after 6 months of waiting, Bphone B86 has obtained GPP certificate after the update BOS 8.8.
After obtaining GPP certificate, Bphone B86 can install some applications such as Netflix directly on Play Store. In addition, some reports indicate that Google might block some apps like Google Messages or Google Duo from working on unapproved Android devices in the near future. Therefore, users of Bphone B86 do not have to worry.
Currently, among BKAV’s smartphone models, only Bphone B86 is granted GPP certificate. Some previous product lines such as Bphone 3, Bphone 3 Pro have not been GPP yet. Hopefully BKAV will be able to continue to update the above product lines, as well as ensure that future product lines will have this certificate.
