Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class 2020 has just been officially introduced, the car will have 2 versions including GLB 200 and GLB 250 with standard front-wheel drive system and 4MATIC full-time 4-wheel drive option. Mercedes-Benz's small crossover model has a 7-seater cabin, 3 rows are arranged according to 2-3-2 diagram. Currently, Mercedes-Benz GLB 2020 does not have a specific price, but the model between GLA-Class and GLC-Class is expected to be sold by the end of this year with prices ranging from 34,000 to 41,000 USD.
The overall appearance of the GLB-Class 2020 looks like a scaled-down version of the GLE-Class, square and front end for a masculine, healthy feel. Meanwhile, the GLB has an overall length (4,634 mm) shorter than GLC only about 35 mm (1.5 inches). Different from the pitiful image of the concept few months ago, the GLB 250 is not equipped with spikes and only a fairly simple set of 5-spoke alloy wheels. Mercedes GLB 250 has 2 internal – exterior, or Standard or Edition 1 options. In it, Mercedes GLB 250 with Standard option package will have black interior, while the Edtion option package 1 white paint car and cabin are available. brown color looks more premium. The GLB's cabin has the same design as the new A-Class or GLA-Class but adds metal cladding on the tablo panel and the door sill to make a difference. Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class is also equipped with MBUX infotainment system with the ability to support voice command and integrate Mercedes virtual assistant.
The middle row of the Mercedes GLB 250 4MATIC seats can slide forward / backward 140 mm to flexibly adjust the seat when walking 7 people. This row of seats can also be folded in a 40:20:40 ratio, adjusting the tilt of the backrest as well as folding and flipping forward to support the entry and exit of the occupants. Meanwhile, the rear seats can fold flat in a 50:50 ratio to expand luggage space when needed. The luggage compartment capacity when folding the third row of seats is 560 liters and will expand to 1,755 liters when folding both rear seats.
Mercedes-Benz equips the petrol engine M282 GLB 200 similar to the A-Class with a maximum capacity of 161 horsepower and maximum torque of 250 Nm. Vehicles with 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, for acceleration 0-100 km / h in 9.1 seconds. With the GLB 250 version, Mercedes uses the M260 turbocharged I4 engine block, with a maximum capacity of 224 horsepower and maximum torque of 350 Nm. Accompanying is an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and 0-100 acceleration time that takes 6.9 seconds.
It is expected that in Europe GLB-Class will have 2 more options of turbocharged 2.0L diesel engine with the parameters: 148 horsepower / 320 Nm and 188 horsepower / 400 Nm. In the future, Mercedes promises more high-performance version GLB 35 4MATIC. This model can share a powerful 300 horsepower engine with Mercedes-AMG A35 or will be equipped with a new M139 engine with more than 400 horsepower.
4MATIC full-time 4-wheel drive system will be optional.
