Mercedes-AMG has just officially launched the new A 45 and CLA 45 – the duo of high-performance sports cars is expected by users in recent years. The most prominent feature on the new 45 series is the appearance of the S version with a maximum power of 415 hp, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in just 3.9 seconds.
Mercedes-AMG is always famous for its extremely impressive high-performance engines. And on the new A 45 and CLA 45 versions, the company continues to hold the title of "World's Strongest 2.0 Engine" by pushing capacity to the maximum. Accordingly, the engine code block M139 4 cylinder in line, with a capacity of 2.0 liters on the A 45 and CLA 45 2020 with a maximum capacity of 382 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque.
The A 45 S and CLA 45 S versions have stronger output power, reaching 415 hp and 499 Nm. All versions use the 8-speed AMG Speedshift 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and Performance 4MATIC + four-wheel drive system. Mercedes-AMG said, the A 45 2020 has an acceleration time of 0-100 km / h in 4 seconds, the CLA 45 is a bit slower with 4.1 seconds. The corresponding numbers of the two versions A 45 S and CLA 45 S are 3.9 seconds and 4 seconds.
The maximum speed of version 45 is limited to 250 km / h and the S version is 270 km / h. In addition to engine upgrades, the new 45 series has a more robust body thanks to its high-performance suspension. AMG engineers have added an aluminum shield under the engine, A-pillar reinforcement bar and front braces to increase torsional resistance.
The highlight of the 4MATIC + 4-wheel drive system is the new AMG Torque Control traction system integrated in the rear axle differential. The system uses two electronically controlled multi-plate clutches, each with the task of controlling one side of the rear axle, thereby optimizing traction to each rear wheel.
Another outstanding feature related to the performance of the vehicle is the AMG Dynamic Plus package. This package provides the Driff feature when Race mode is enabled, the electronic stability system is disabled and the gearbox switches to manual mode so that the driver can driff in the track. However, the AMG Dynamic Plus package is only equipped as standard for the S version and is optional on the regular version.
All new A 45 and CLA 45 versions have 6 driving modes including Comfort, Sport, Sport +, Slippery, Individual and Race. Currently the manufacturer has not announced the price and the time of sale for this model.
