According to a poll by Just the News Daily, the current proportion of voters supporting McConnell is only 21%, lower than both Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer – Democratic Party (28%) and Leadership. Minority House Kevin McCarthy – Republican Party (25%).

The disproportionate disparity among these politicians was even larger, with 62% of voters giving McConnell a negative rating, while 44% rated Mr. Schumer and only 36. % feel negative about Mr. McCarthy.

National polls over the past few months show that the number of Americans who support McConnell has decreased significantly. At the time of the 2020 presidential election, the Economist / YouGov poll found that McConnell’s voter support rate reached 32%, while last week a similar poll found only 17% of voters favored. for him.

McConnell’s decline in voters may be partly due to a significant drop in the proportion of Republican voters that support him. The Kentucky State Senator has harshly criticized Mr. Trump after the recent Senate impeachment trial, which declared former President Trump innocent in the allegation that he incited “uprising” at the Capitol United. The survey was conducted with 1,200 registered voters by Scott Rasmussen using a mixed method from February 18 to 20, 2021.

In a move that appears to want to mend ties with former President Trump, he McConnell on Feb. 25 told Fox News that he would “definitely” vote for Mr. Trump if he became the 2024 Republican presidential nominee.
