High Dynamic Area Imaging (HDRI or HDR) is a set of techniques used in imaging and photography to reproduce a greater dynamic range of brightness than is possible with digital imaging standard or standard photographic techniques. The aim is to present the human eye with a similar range of brightness as that which, through the optical system, is familiar to everyday life. The human eye, through the adaptation of the iris (and other methods) is constantly adapting to the general dynamic changes everywhere in our environment. The brain constantly interprets this information so that most of us can see in a wide range of lighting conditions. Luminance HDR is a free graphics software used to create and manipulate High Dynamic Range images.
