A picture leaked from the Twitter Universelce account has revealed a part of the design of the upcoming Huawei Mate30 Pro phone. At first glance, the curvaceous screen design is similar to what Huawei has done, or earlier than Samsung. However, if you pay close attention, we will see that its curvature is larger than that of phones that had such designs.
Leakage protection glass shows the high amplitude of the screen to the edge up to 90 degrees. The previous leak indicates that the screen of the Mate30 Pro can bend out to 4 edges. Not only that, information from Huawei's supply chain shows that they have tested a kind of monolithic glass. With the design of two side sides of such length, it is very likely that the machine will not own the traditional mechanical key but will use the simulating force-sensitive key.
Probably, the Mate30 Pro series will have a special version because of the 4-sided design so it can remove physical SIM to integrate eSIM. This also means that the machine will need more complex fabrication methods. Meanwhile the standard Mate30 version may still use a flat glass or a design similar to the predecessor Mate20 Pro.
The Mate30 Pro can own a 6.71 ”OLED display with a large area concave above for 3D face recognition. It can use Kirin 985 platform on 7 nm process, support 5G network, fingerprint sensor inside the screen
. See rumors that the Mate30 line may be announced by Huawei in October 2019.
