According to Jilin’s disclosure, the total import and export volume of Beijing’s service trade in 2019 exceeded US$160 billion, accounting for about 20% of the country’s total service trade. In a horizontal comparison with global service trade countries and regions, Beijing has entered the top 20.

As a high-tech industrial park with dual qualifications as a national software industry base and a national software export base, Zhongguancun Software Park also gathers more than 600 headquarters of well-known IT companies at home and abroad and global R&D centers. “In 2019, the total output value of enterprises in the park has reached 286.89 billion yuan,” Jilin said.

In addition, 22 Beijing companies including Beijing Digital Technology Enterprise Yunji, Xiaomi, Meituan, Baidu, etc. have entered the 2019 China Top 500 Big Data Companies list, accounting for 44% of the country, and ranking first in the country.

According to Jilin, Beijing currently leads the country’s development in key digital technologies such as 5G, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, and blockchain. Application scenarios such as autonomous driving, industrial Internet, smart cities, smart healthcare, and sharing economy have formed a certain degree of international influence.

Jilin said that the digital transformation of Beijing’s industry is continuing to deepen. The city’s industrial enterprises above designated size have achieved cloud and platform access rates of more than 40%. At the same time, Beijing’s business environment has been continuously optimized and improved. In the State Council’s assessment of the business environment of major cities across the country, Beijing has ranked first for two consecutive years.

In fact, Jilin stated that as a national science and technology innovation center, in recent years, Beijing has thoroughly implemented the spirit of General Secretary Jinping’s important speech, and has taken the development of digital economy and digital trade as strategic choices to promote high-quality urban development. In terms of policies, on June 10 this year, the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government issued the “Opinions on Accelerating the Cultivation and Growth of New Business Forms and New Models to Promote the High-quality Development of Beijing’s Economy” and five supporting documents, focusing on new infrastructure, new scenarios, new consumption, New openings and new services put forward practical measures to expand new business formats and new models, and various specific plans with full policy guarantees. “This demonstrates Beijing’s determination to promote the six-stable, six-guarantee market-oriented reform and all-round opening up to promote the transformation of economic kinetic energy.” Jilin said.

Jilin revealed that on September 7th, Beijing will issue a major release of the “1+3” policy system to promote the digital economy and innovative development at the Service Trade Fair, and clarify the focus and direction of Beijing’s digital economy development in the next stage.
