Recently, Yusaku Mawzawa, founder of Japan's extremely successful online clothing retailer Zozotown, shared on Twitter a new application called Zozomat.
Zozomat uses 3D technology to determine the foot size and calculate the appropriate shoe size and sandals. Zozomat consists of a specially designed rug and a computational application. Users just need to place their feet on the carpet, then take photos of different feet with a smartphone.
The Zozomat dedicated application will use the points on the carpet as a reference point and create your 3D foot model with the same high accuracy as the real ruler. After the calculation is complete, the application will automatically navigate you to the Zozotown sales page and choose the size that best suits your feet.
This is not the first time we have seen technology applications that support us in choosing products that need high compatibility in size.
In 2017, Yusaku Maezawa, founder of Japan's famous apparel brand, ZOZO, revealed the special Zozosuit clothes that automatically measure body size and stretch to be most comfortable with them. .
Although the potential of this outfit is great, the product failed because the production cost was too great and few people wanted to buy this gaudy product. However, Maezawa said he did not give up the idea of producing a suit suitable for everyone's condition.
Zozomat seems to have learned a lot from Zozosuit's mistake. The application of measuring this foot size is much more practical and the cost is not too expensive.
It is expected that the product will start to be marketed from this fall – winter. The manufacturer also confirmed that it will free delivery for all customers who order.
