TikTok is a popular short video sharing platform that many users love for entertainment purposes. However, it also has many problems related to security. Recently Instagram has launched the Reels platform for users to use instead of TikTok.
Instagram launches the Reels platform
US President Donald Trump is recently attempting to issue a ban with the TikTok app. Not long ago, this application reached a huge number of registered users. However, it also has many problems related to confidentiality, or stealing information. Initially, Microsoft intended to buy the business, but the deal has not been signed. Recently, Instagram has launched its own video sharing platform.
The platform called Reels was first launched in Brazil two months ago. Now, the company has announced that the platform will be available on Instagram apps. It will allow users to shoot and edit 15-second videos with new audio, effects and creative tools. This platform will be made available in 50 countries. Instagram Reels is located in the Instagram Camera in the top left corner. Users can add audio, AR effects, timer and countdown to all videos.
Will the Reels platform replace TikTok?
Users can share videos similar to how stories are posted. Additionally, only your followers can watch videos if you have privacy settings set. You can view other people’s Reels in the discover tab. Instagram is also tagging “Featured” to help users discover original content.
As of now, Instagram has yet to announce the list of countries where Reels will be available. Only for sure there will be Brazil as they tried it there. The feature has also launched in the US, UK, India, Japan, Australia, France, and Germany. Technology Site will continue to update information about this platform.
