The holiday shopping season is in full swing, and retailers like Target and Amazon are offering deals on a variety of tablets, hoping to lure in customers who want new computer for their loved ones… or themselves.
Many of these deals are as good as the ones offered on Black Friday. But don’t dither or dawdle, as most of them are available for a short time only.
Best Tablet Deals: Apple iPad Pro and iPad
One of Apple’s hottest models is the 10.5-inch iPad Pro, so shoppers should be happy to learn that Best Buy has knocked $125 off the cost of every version. That makes the 64 GB one $524.99, not the usual $649.99, for example. Target is almost matching that deal, with $120 off every version of this tablet. Walmart is asking $599 for the 64 GB version, a savings of $50.
The 9.7-inch iPad (2017) with 32 GB of storage was already a good deal at $329.99, but Best Buy has lowered the cost by $50.
The second-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2017) with 64 GB of storage is now available from Best Buy at $100 below the usual $799 cost. Those who buy the 256 GB version save $125 from this retailer, or save $150 by purchasing the 512 GB version. Walmart has taken $50 off its price for the 64 GB model.
Target has the iPad mini 4 priced at $299, a $100 drop below the usual cost of this mid-size model.
The MSRP for the the Apple Pencil is $99.99, but Walmart is asking $95. At this point, there don’t seem to be any bargains on the various Apple Smart Keyboard versions.
Best Tablet Deals: Surface Pro and Windows
During this shopping season, Best Buy and the Microsoft Store are offering $200 off a powerful Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) Windows 10 tablet with an Intel Core i5 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and a 128 GB SSD, lowering it to $799. The usual price is $999, obviously.
People who want more RAM and storage should head to Microsoft or Best Buy, as they have also knocked $200 off the cost of the Core i5/8GB/256GB version, reducing it to $1099.
Those looking for the less powerful version can get the newest Surface Pro with a Core m3 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage for $599, which is $200 off the regular cost.
The Surface Pro is sold without a keyboard, but the Microsoft Store is offering deals on either of those i5 versions bundled with a Black Type Cover. The i5/4GB/128GB bundle is $928, while the more powerful i5/8GB/256GB one is $1428.99.
Best Tablet Deals: Amazon Fire
The Fire series of tablets is already very inexpensive, but prices are even lower now.
Amazon, is asking just $29.99 for the new Amazon Fire 7, down from the usual $49.99. That’s a 40% savings. Target and Best Buy have each knocked $10 of the cost of this model.
Amazon, Best Buy, and Target all have the latest Amazon Fire HD 8 with 16 GB of storage for $49.99, a $30 savings.
To complete the set, the Amazon Fire HD 10 is $119.99 at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target, a $30 savings. That’s 20% off.
Best Tablet Deals: Android
The 10.1-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab A with 16 GB of storage is being offered by Best Buy and Target for $199.99. That’s $80 off the original price.
Best Buy has the 9.6-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab E with 16GB of storage for $149, a $50 savings
Android fans should be happy to hear that Best Buy is offering the Chromecast Ultra for $54.99, a $15 savings. Or there’s $29.01 off a Google Home Mini bundled with an original Chromecast, lowering the cost to $54.99.
