However, the iPad Air will not have a FaceID facial recognition sensor and instead is the power button located on the side integrated with the power button on the top edge of the machine. This fingerprint sensor will be located under a layer of sapphire glass, surrounded by stainless steel buttons.
In terms of screen, the new iPad Air owns a 10.9-inch IPS Liquid Retina display with 2,360 x 1,640 pixel resolution, a pixel density of 264 ppi, which is a bit smaller than the 11-inch iPad Pro version, and all of course, than the previous version of the iPad Air 2019. In addition, the screen also has True Tone technology, anti-glare coating on the surface, DCI-P3 color standard, brightness 500 nits.
In terms of hardware power, the new iPad Air is equipped with A14 chip with 11.8 billion transistors, developed on the basis of 5nm process and as a result, it is the first 5nm chip in the industry. In terms of performance, Apple says the new chip with a 6-core design (2 high-performance cores and 4-core power-saving), offers 40% more performance than the old iPad Air. Of course, the GPU is also upgraded to handle graphics tasks with 4 processing cores.
All the hardware will combine with machine learning chip, allowing to compute 11 trillion operations per second, with 16 additional neural engine cores. Apple said it will give the ability to handle game graphics with the same quality as playing console.
In terms of camera, the new iPad Air has a 7MP front camera, f / 2.2 aperture, supports 1080p video call, Smart HDR. The rear main camera has 12MP resolution, f / 1.8 aperture, recording 4K @ 60fps video with anti-shake, slow-motion Full HD 240 fps.

The new iPad Air supports Apple Pencil 2, and Smart Keyboard Folio and Magic Keyboard accessories of iPad Pro 11 (2020) version. It also has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, LTE options, 2 levels of storage 64 GB and 256 GB.

- 256 GB Wi-Fi version: $ 749
- 64GB version Wi-Fi + Cellular: $ 729
- 256 GB Wi-Fi + Cellular version: $ 879
According to me, the delivery time of iPad Air gen 4 may be ahead of the new generation iPhone, but not within the month of introduction. So approaching the machine with Apple’s new SoC A14 Bionic will not be easy.
