Google Translate is a pretty useful application / feature for those who travel or want to learn other languages. And recently, the Google Translate app for Android has been updated, adding new capabilities.
First, when launching, instant translation feature with Google Translate camera is added 60 additional languages along with 88 languages at launch. Notably, among the 60 new languages, there are Vietnamese, Thai and Malaysian languages …
Besides, this feature also added 3 new modes including Instant, Scan and Import. They make the application's interface more intuitive and seamless. Moreover, the ability to detect source language has also been added. According to Google, the translation error rate of this feature has been reduced by 50% and the update will be released to users in the next few weeks.
With the help of technology Neural Machine Translation (NMT), Google Translate can provide instant translations better, reducing 55 to 85% errors with certain language pairs.
To use the instant translation feature with the camera, simply open the Google translate app and click on the camera icon. Next, direct your camera to the text you want to translate, the application will automatically detect the source language and translate it into the language you choose.
