Olivier Giroud’s super product helped Chelsea defeat Atletico Madrid on away field, thereby taking a huge advantage before the return leg.
As an away team and somewhat underestimated, but Chelsea is a more active participant than Atletico Madrid. Thomas Tuchel’s army is as usual the one that controls most of the ball with outstanding passes, but does not have a really good shot in the bottom third of the field.
On the other side of the front line, Atletico had a hard time facing the opponent’s methodical pressing style. Too many failed passes were made by the host attacking players, but on the defensive front the home team still did well and stood firm for the first 45 minutes.

In the 67th minute, in his rare chance, Olivier Giroud hit Oblak in a very high level. It took more than 4 minutes for the VAR team to work and finally the French striker’s masterpiece was recognized.
