Sony continues to launch new phones at IFA 2019 with a smaller version of Xperia 1 called Xperia 5. Based on the features of the 2019 Xperia series, Xperia 5 continues to own a new design language. featured with an 21: 9 OLED screen, 3 rear camera clusters along with powerful hardware from Xperia 1.
Unlike every other year, the Xperia 5 is not a second flagship launched in the same year but it is a more compact version of the Xperia 1. Sony Xperia 5 has a 6.1 "screen with a resolution Full HD + resolution and still have a 21: 9 aspect ratio with OLED panel technology. Familiar technologies for displaying internal images thanks to the BRAVIA X1 for mobile chip that delivers HDR-standard images. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 6, incorporating the Side sense touch feature to activate the use of two application windows.
Carrying the same design as Xperia 1, Xperia 5 has a more compact size with dimensions DxR 158 x 68 mm, thickness 8.2mm. To make it easier to imagine, the Xperia 5 is an iPhone 8 that extends by 2 centimeters.
The cluster of 3 cameras on the device is set aside in the same way that many manufacturers are applying. With Snapdragon 855 platform hardware, the device is optimized for gaming with the Game Enhancer tool to improve performance, increase the focus for gamers or the ability to record images when playing games at 20 fps. It has a capacity of 3,140 mAh battery with Smart Stamina management software, charging via USB PD port. The cellular network modem inside the device is still 4G LTE Gigabit.
Sony Xperia 5 will be available in Europe starting in October 2019 with pre-order programs in some European countries that offer a special WF-1000XM3 wireless headset. The price of the device has not been disclosed but certainly will not be higher than the current Xperia 1.
