Hyper Scape is Ubisoft’s new free battle royale game that has been announced. The game will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One in the future.
Like other games of the same genre, Hyper Scape will have 100 players in a match. You will have to look for weapons and skills called hacking. For example, they allow players to jump higher, farther, quickly create walls to cover, hurt opponents with mines, and many other things. You can equip two hacks at the same time.
Alternatively, you can combine hacks or weapons by fusion. If a hack or weapon is found, the player can combine them to create a stronger version of the hack or weapon. For example, you can increase the amount of damage or reduce cooldown. Players can fusion many times to improve guns and skills.
Crown rush is the main mode, and it is played as a team. Ubisoft developer Montreal said that they want players to have an active role in the game even if eliminated – you can detect enemies for your teammates, who can revive you with restore points. This point drops when the opponent is defeated.
The game map will also shrink over time, a process called decay: part of the playing area will disappear completely. Other events, such as bullet immortality or low gravity, will make the game more refreshing. In addition, viewers on Twitch also play a role in the game: they can influence the events that occur next.
If it reaches the end of the match, the showdown phase will be activated. Here, a crown will drop somewhere in battle, and if a team holds it for 45 seconds, that team will win the game. Of course, the player holding the crown will be seen by everyone else, which means you can’t easily hold it for long. Killing all other teams is another way to win.
Another experimental mode, dark haze solo, as the mode name will remove all teammates and put players on the map with limited vision, free to choose different weapons. Let’s wait and see what game modes will add and how long they last.
Hyper Scape will be available for free with a battle pass like Fortnite, but Ubisoft hasn’t shared much about this information yet. The game will have a store for you to upgrade your character’s skin.
Hyper Scape has now entered the closed beta on PC, with the launch schedule coming soon. The game will also be available on PS4 and Xbox One in the future.
