In addition, the Mate 30 Pro also has a built-in speaker and an in-display fingerprint sensor. This speaker technology is called as Ascoutic Display Huawei, the defect on the Mate 30 Pro is 32.8 mm wide but it has many sensors such as proximity sensor, light sensor, 3D depth sensor, Selfie camera and especially a gesture sensor that allows controlling the device by waving. The 3D facial recognition feature on the Mate 30 Pro is able to detect in many angles. It also features AI Auto-Rotate that tracks eyes to see what position you're viewing. Theate 30 has a larger screen with a size of 6.63 ", Rigid OLED display technology with a resolution 2340 x 1080, 19.5: 9 aspect ratio, DCI-P3 HDR color range support and 2.8 mm slim sides and bottom design, and the width of the Mate 30 screen is 26.6 mm Multi sensor and selfie camera but no gesture sensor.

The camera cluster design on the Mate 30 Pro and Mate 30 are the same, differing in sensor settings and the position of the cameras. This camera system is Huawei called SuperSensing, 4 holes are the same but only 3 cameras:

Mate 30 Pro has 3 cameras including:

  • 40 MP (18 mm) f / 1.8 Ultra-Wide
  • 40 MP (27 mm) f / 1.6 SuperSensing Wide + OIS
  • 8 MP Tele (80 mm) f / 2.4 + OIS
  • 3D Depth Sensing (ToF)

The two 40 MP sensors on the Mate 30 Pro are very large when compared to the sensors of Note10 + 5G or the iPhone 11, which is 1 / 1.7 ". The sensor for the ultra wide-angle camera is a 40 MP Cine RGGB sensor with a ratio of 3: 2 while the sensor for SuperSensing wide-angle camera is 40 MP RYYB with a 4: 3 aspect ratio. With a large sensor size, the camera supports an ISO range of up to 409600, supports 45x zoom with optical 3x and 30x digital, supports Pro-Bokeh, Huawei also boasts a range of features such as HDR + super sharp shooting or portrait portraits with zoom levels.

Mate 30 has 3 cameras including:

  • 16 MP (17 mm) f / 2.2 Ultra-Wide
  • 40 MP (27 mm) f / 1.8 SuperSensing Wide
  • 8 MP Tele (80 mm) f / 2.4 + OIS
  • Laser Focus

Thus, the Mate 30 version only has a large 40 MP RYYB sensor like the Mate 30 Pro, a maximum sensitivity range of 204800 and also supports 45x zoom with 3x optical and 30x digital. Both cameras allow macro shooting at 2.5 mm, the image stabilization is better with the Mate 30 Pro with 2 cameras with optical stabilization and the Mate 30 has only 1 camera with OIS. Mate 30 Pro is the first smartphone to support 4K 60fps HDR + movie recording with ISO in up to 51200 recording modes, maximum frame rate 7680 fps with Dual OIS + AIS. The Ultra Slow Motion feature of the Mate 30 Pro allows the device to capture the humming wing movement of a hummingbird wing speed up to 80 times per second or capture an explosive balloon of gas at a frame rate of 1920. fps.

Kirin 990: Strong improvement in NPU

In terms of configuration, Mate 30 Pro and Mate 30 are equipped with the latest SoC Kirin 990. In this generation SoC, Huawei said it is manufactured on 7nm + EUV process and is also the first SoC to integrate 5G modem.

  • 8 cores including 2 super large, 2 large and 4 small, maximum clock of 2.86 GHz
  • Graphics core Mali-G76 MP16 with 16 processing units
  • AI NPU processor core is improved according to the design of big and small cores (Big-Tiny Cores) to save power and increase performance
  • The BM3D image processing ISP provides the same quality as a DSLR
  • Dual-Domain ISP handles video noise

Huawei said that compared to Kirin 980, the performance of Kirin 990 increased: 23% in CPU, 39% in GPU and 460% in NPU. Similarly, power savings are improved by 23% CPU, 32% GPU and 290% NPU, Huawei is proud to talk about the 5G Balong integrated modem on Kirin 990 because it supports up to 8 bands, many more than 5 bands compared to the 5G modem of Samsung Galaxy Note10 + 5G from which the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro can work with all carriers around the globe. The machine itself is integrated with 21 antennas for 5G and 14 antennas for other connections.

The Mate 30/30 Pro also supports 2 nano SIMs or 1 nano SIM + 1 nanoMemory card. It is worth noting that both SIMs are active when there is an incoming call, not 1 SIM turned off 1 SIM calling like most current dual SIM smartphones.
