Currently, WhatsApp for iPhone has allowed you to delete some multimedia files like photos, videos, GIFs from individual chats.

WhatsApp for iPhone has been redesigned, optimized for memory usage. You can now delete certain types of messages from individual chats on WhatsApp. For example, you can delete images, GIFs, videos, documents, etc. from a conversation.
This change is very helpful. Finally, you can choose to keep or delete a specific type of message on your device.
Note: Update to WhatsApp latest version.
Step 1. Open the application WhatsApp on iPhone.
Step 2. Choose Settings in the bottom right corner.
Step 3. Next click Data and Storage Usage.
Step 4. Touch the option Storage Usage.
Step 5. On the next screen, you’ll see statistics for how much storage each conversation uses. Click the conversation you want to delete.
Step 6. Choose Clear Chat below.
Step 7. Now, you need to select the type of multimedia you want to delete → After selecting, press Clear at the bottom.
So you have deleted the file out of the conversation and help save storage space.
Also, with the update, you can send messages even without the internet. To do that, simply enter the message and press the send button. Your message will be queued and as soon as the device connects to the internet, the message will be sent.
