If you’re designing for high-end brands or want to create a classy design, using text is equally important to the overall design. Creating luxurious text effects in Photoshop isn’t too complicated. Here’s how to do it.
The following assets were used in the production of this tutorial:
- Great Vibes font
Damask pattern by nethirtytwo
Tiled, Paved, and Marble Patterns by Webtreats
1. Create Background
Install Damask template by double clicking on it.
Create a new document (File> New) and establish Width was 600 px, Cao was 300 px and Resolution was 72.
Select> All, later Edit> Fill and Select White from the dropdown list. After Select> Deselect. Let’s rename the layer (Layer> Rename Layer) Fort Background to keep it neat and tidy.
Now double-click on the layer Background to enter Layer Style. You will add one Pattern Overlay. From the drop-down list, select the Damask template in dark gray.
Now, let’s add Color Overlay with the following settings:
- Blend Mode: Vivid Light
- Opacity: 2%
- Use the color # 000000
You will then add one Gradient Overlay with the following settings:
- Blend Mode: Overlay
- Make sure you check it Reverse
- Style: Radial
- Angle: 0
- Scale: 150%
Click the box Gradient to create gradients. Click each color stop to change it color and use the colors # 060606 to the left and # 3c3c3c to the right.
When you are still in Gradient OverlayClick on the canvas and hold while dragging upwards to move the gradient. You will see that it gives the background a wonderful soft glow, spreading from above.
2. Create Text and Add Effects
Install the Webtreats template by double clicking on it.
Install fonts Great Vibes. Then go back in Photoshop, creating the text by typing Luxury Or you choose and choose the font you just installed (it’s called Great Vibes Regular in the font list). Set the Size to 200 pt. It doesn’t matter which color you choose because we will add a lot of effects that will overlay it.
Double-click the layer Luxury and the fun starts! Below Pattern Overlay, add a black template from the Webtreats package. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a single name, but luckily all models come in different colors, and you’ll use black only. It will add a dark stone pattern to the text:
Add one Gradient Overlay into the mix, from there, the text comes alive:
To make the text stand out, add Bevel & Emboss with the following settings. be sure Gloss Contour was Ring-Double.
Then add a number Contour to refine Bevel & Emboss. Guaranteed Contour was Gaussian.
Now frame the whole text with a yellow outline by adding one Outer Glow:
By adding Stroke Silver on the text, you will make it stand out even more:
Finally, add one Drop Shadow to separate the text from the background:
Press OK And you get a shiny text effect.
3. Save Text Effects for Later Use
But of course you will need to save the effect so you can use it over and over again on text or other objects. If you look at the board StylesYou will see a small icon that looks like a piece of paper with a folded corner. Click it to add style to your existing styles and give it a memorable name.
You still need to save it to your gallery, so go ahead and click on the little dropdown icon and then Save Styles. Save it wherever you want, though I recommend saving it in the Photoshop folder:
- Locate the Styles Folder on Windows: Program Files> Adobe> Adobe Photoshop (your version)> Presets> Styles
- Locate the Styles folder on Mac: Programs> Adobe Photoshop (your version)> Presets> Styles
Congratulations, you’re done
