HNA Holdings’ passenger turnover fell by 20% in December last year, without introducing new aircraft
Beijing News (Reporter Wang Zhenzhen) On January 15, Hainan Airlines Holdings Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “HNA Holdings”) released major operating data for December 2019. In December last year, HNA Holdings and its subsidiaries ’passenger capacity (in available passenger kilometers) decreased by 17.2% year-on-year, and passenger turnover (in revenue passenger kilometers) decreased by 19.68% year-on-year.
During the reporting period, domestic passenger transportation capacity input of HNA Holdings and its subsidiaries decreased by 20.14% year-on-year, and domestic passenger turnover decreased by 23.43% year-on-year; international passenger transportation capacity decreased by 8.49% year-on-year, and international passenger turnover decreased by 6.09% year-on-year; regional passenger transportation capacity Investment dropped by 19.18% year-on-year, and regional passenger turnover decreased by 33.53% year-on-year.
In December 2019, the passenger load factor of HNA Holdings and its subsidiaries was 79.27%, a decrease of 2.44 percentage points year-on-year, of which domestic and regional declines were 3.51 percentage points and 13.89 percentage points respectively, and the international increase was 1.86 percentage points. Added 8 routes from Kunming to Luang Prabang, Kunming to Vientiane, Shenzhen to Phu Quoc, Haikou to Moscow, Chongqing to Budapest, Haikou to Phnom Penh, Urumqi to Wuhan to Nagoya, Urumqi to Jinan to Nagoya.
In December 2019, HNA Holdings and its subsidiaries did not introduce new aircraft and withdrew 3 B737-800 aircraft. As of the end of December 2019, HNA Holdings and its subsidiaries operated a total of 361 aircraft.
