Sold in the mid-range price segment, Asus Vivobook 13 Slate OLED is a hybrid tablet model with extremely flexible usability. The device is equipped with an OLED screen with brilliant display quality, with a peak brightness of up to 550 nit. And yet, the device also possesses a compact design, allowing users to carry it around easily.

In addition to the ability to interact through the touch screen, users can also work with the machine through the Asus Pen 2.0 pen and a removable keyboard. However, the Asus Vivobook 13 Slate OLED is not a perfect device, with the biggest limitation coming from the overall performance level that the machine delivers.

Asus Vivobook 13 Slate OLED: Design

The Asus Vivobook 13 Slate OLED is a device with good build quality and an eye-catching design language. The screen is wrapped inside a bezel, making the overall size of the device slim and easy to hold in the hand.

The machine is equipped with a sound system with 4 speakers and supports Dolby Atmos technology. This speaker system has a fairly large volume level, but the sound quality is quite thin.

Users can pair the tablet with a removable keyboard to turn the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED into a tablet. The keyboard set has a good bounce, with a 1.4mm deep travel, providing a comfortable typing experience while working.

In terms of connectivity, the device is equipped with two high-speed USB Type-C ports and a microSD card reader slot. You can use one of these two USB ports to charge the device. The device is equipped with a 5MP camera on the front and a 13MP camera on the back. The device has a long battery life, allowing you to use it comfortably for a long time.

The detachable keyboard set is attached to the body through a magnet system. Asus Vivobook 13 Slate OLED has an overall weight of 1.4 kg, allowing users to carry it around easily and conveniently.

Asus Vivobook 13 Slate OLED: Keyboard and touchpad

The buttons on the keyboard set have a good bounce, spaced well apart. The keyboard set is not equipped with a lighting system, so the experience of working in dark room conditions may not be very convenient. The keyboard provides a good typing experience under normal working conditions thanks to its well-bounce buttons.

The touchpad of the removable keyboard is a large size. This touchpad has a larger surface area even when compared to other 15- or 16-inch laptop touchpads on the market. The surface of the touchpad is smooth, allowing me to easily control the mouse pointer to interact with different applications on the operating system.

Asus Vivobook 13 Slate OLED: Screen

Asus Vivobook 13 Slate OLED is equipped with an OLED screen with a diagonal size of 13.3 inches, FHD resolution. Due to the use of OLED panels, the screen does not experience light leakage like LCD screens in other models. The screen is capable of wide color coverage, making all content on the screen reproduced in a vibrant and vivid way.

The screen is capable of displaying vibrant colors, providing a good experience when watching movies as well as when working. However, due to no anti-glare treatment, the image quality displayed on the screen will be significantly reduced if you use the device in the sun.

Asus Vivobook 13 Slate OLED: Performance

Here is a list of the results that Vivobook 13 Slate OLED achieved in different benchmark tests:

  • 3DMark: Night Raid: 3903 points; Fire Strike: 1100 points; Time Spy: 386 points
  • Cinebench R20 Multi-core: 628 points
  • GeekBench 5: 686 points (single core); 1913 points (multicore)
  • PCMark 10 (Home Test): 2632 points
  • PCMark 10 Battery Life: 7 hours 29 minutes

If I have to point out the weakest point of the Asus Vivobook 13 Slate OLED, it is the Intel Pentium Silver N6000 chip of the machine. In theory, a 4-core Intel chip with a clock speed of up to 3GHz would probably provide enough performance for this type of device. But in actual use, this is a chip that uses less power, making the overall performance level of the machine not as good as expected.

The device offers a not-so-smooth user experience, with tasks such as downloading and installing applications taking a long time. Even when interacting with the basic functions of Windows 11, the machine still has lag.

Vivobook 13 Slate OLED delivers good performance when watching movies, especially movies with 4K resolution. That is thanks to the ability to display brilliant colors of the OLED screen.

The machine’s PCIe 3.0 SSD has a total capacity of 256GB. According to the manufacturer, the SSD of the machine is not the type that is soldered to the main, so in theory, users can disassemble and replace it if they want. In addition to this version, the device is also sold with a basic configuration version with 128GB eMMC memory.

The Asus Vivobook 13 Slate OLED had a steady heat level during our tests. The machine has a recorded temperature of 33 degrees Celsius at rest. The machine has a measured temperature of 36 degrees Celsius during work.

Asus Vivobook 13 Slate OLED: Battery life

The Vivobook 13 Slate OLED lasted about 9 hours on our battery life test using our video looping method. This is a pretty good result for a device using x86 chip with Windows operating system. This level of battery life is enough for you to work comfortably without having to worry much.
