Fujifilm announced a new flexible zoom lens for X-Series mirrorless cameras. XF 16-80mm f / 4 R OIS WR is a stable zoom lens, suitable for many styles and genres of photography.
Fujifilm shares this lens "very easy to carry and flexible for all types of photography". With a focal length equivalent to full-frame 24-122mm and a constant f / 4 aperture, this small portable light lens is perfect if you don't want to carry more than one lens.
XF optical structure 16-80mm f / 4 R OIS WR uses 16 elements in 12 groups, including a spherical structure group to minimize aberration. It also maintains a minimum focusing distance of only 35mm in the zoom range, with a maximum magnification of 0.25x, and integrated optical image stabilization (OIS) of 6 stops.
Fuji claims that this lens can handle any vibration from mechanical shutter and automatically detect when it is attached to a tripod, adjusting its performance to provide optimum image quality.
Finally, it can work well in dusty and humid conditions of weather and frost resistance down to -10 ° C.
Some sample images were taken by XF 16-80mm f / 4R OIS WR lenses and Fujifilm X-T3 cameras. The portrait was taken with a simulated Classic Chrome movie, the other two were Provia:
This lens will start selling starting September 26, 2019 for $ 800.
