The severed head of a large wolf has just been found in Siberia. Due to being buried in the ice, everything is preserved, hair, teeth, brain and most of the facial tissue is intact. Pavel Yefimov – a local resident who discovered this head in early summer at the bank of Tirekhtyakh, when the ice melted.
For research purposes, this head was sent to the Yakutia Science Institute. After analyzing the samples and measuring the data collected, with the help of a team of scientists from Japan and Sweden, they estimated the animal may have died from more than 40,000 years ago. Currently, the researchers decided to use plastination to preserve the specimen.
