The case of deputy Harold Lebel, accused of sexual assault, was postponed at the Rimouski courthouse.
The former PQ member for Rimouski, who now sits as an independent, was briefly in court on Tuesday and will return to court on September 7 to find out the date of his trial.
Court documents have yet to be filed with the court before ruling on the length of the trial.
The 58-year-old had previously pleaded not guilty to the sexual assault charge against him. He chose to stand trial by judge and jury.
The events for which he is accused allegedly occurred in 2017. A court order protects the identity of the alleged victim, as well as the judicial steps up to trial.
