The OnePlus 8 Pro is revealed a little more with the first images of its Samsung 120 Hz screen announced last week. The leaks also give an overview of the configuration functions that will allow you to set the refresh rate to benefit from better fluidity or better autonomy.
Last year the range OnePlus 7T Pro already illustrated with a screen AMOLED 2K 90 Hz and just a week ago, Pete Lau, CEO of the brand presented major screen improvements Fluid Display for the series OnePlus 8. He announced in particular a 120 Hz Samsung screen whose brightness peaks exceed 1000 nits, and one 240 Hz response rate for a more responsive touch experience. A new leak gives us an overview of the OnePlus 8 Pro, and confirms that we can configure the refresh rate to limit the use of the battery or on the contrary take advantage of 120 Hz.
OnePlus 8: a 120 Hz screen for its release in 2020?
The OnePlus 8 will offer 3 display modes
The stolen photo True-Tech obtained reveals the screen Fluid Display slightly curved with fine edges. The small hole that houses its front photo sensor also confirms that OnePlus has abandoned the 7T Pro retractable camera system. As on the previous generation, a configuration screen allows you to define its refresh rate according to 3 values, 60, 90 or 120 Hz. Unsurprisingly, the 120 Hz promises “maximum fluidity, but slightly reduced autonomy”. The description does not specify whether the change in refresh rate will affect resolution as seems to be the case on the Samsung Galaxy which should then switch to FHD +.
Samsung Galaxy S20 +: 8K video, 120 Hz screen, a new leak reveals a little more
It is expected that the OnePlus 8 range will be completed with a OnePlus 8 Lite, a cheaper smartphone. The OnePlus 8 would have a 6.5-inch screen, the 8 Pro with a 6.65-inch screen, and finally the Lite version would offer a 6.4-inch screen. The Chinese manufacturer has probably abandoned the jack, and the fingerprint sensor would be located under the screen. Finally, a benchmark carried out on Geekbench gives it a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 with 12 GB RAM in its high-end version. The OnePlus Pro would therefore have the 5G.
