Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is a bold new test in an effort to make a non-notch, benzel smartphone and a true full-screen device with the help of a unique "fish fin". Reno 10x Zoom is really the most worthwhile smartphone for Oppo in 2019!
Oppo, like always, puts on Reno 10x Zoom an eye-catching appearance with the screen is a pure seamless surface without blemishes. It does not carry on anything, including the notch part of the camera's water droplet size or perforated hole. To do so, the front camera is hidden inside the phone, turned on when needed with a unique, highly aesthetically pleasing shark fin module.
With a futuristic design, the peroscope camera has a 10x zoom capability that comes with impressive specs, Oppo Reno 10x Zoom seems like a perfect phone in theory. But in fact, when using, is this Oppo's latest smartphone really great? Let's see it!

Oppo Reno 10x Zoom weighs 215 grams, quite heavy compared to the Galaxy Note 9 (201 grams) and iPhone XS Max (208 grams) and some other phones. In addition to being quite heavy, Oppo's new smartphone is also quite thick, easy to understand because it needs space to hold terrible battery and hidden camera inside the phone.
While it may seem bulky, Reno 10x Zoom is not bad at all. It has a 6.6-inch OLED screen surrounded by razor-thin edges that look extremely impressive.
The back has a classy, well-proportioned gradient of paint, equipped with a 3-camera cluster, made of glass despite not supporting wireless charging. It has two color versions: Ocean Green (color as shown in the lesson) and Jet Black (Black Shadow). All 3 cameras are deeply embedded inside, flas are hidden in the "fish fins", only to be turned on when the back side is completely flat. Oh, except for one thing: O-Dot.
O-Dot is a small protrusion beneath the camera cluster, slightly protruding from the back of the phone. There is glossy black with a neon ring around it. What is the main use? To look cool! Ah and also to conveniently pick up the phone when setting down like Oppo. But that is still to look good and it looks cool and beautiful.
Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has a 6.6-inch Full HD + OLED display with 1080 x 2340 resolution that delivers sharp images. Although it is not bright enough, there is no exact color accuracy such as iPhone XS, Galaxy S10 or OnePlus 7 Pro but there is no big problem.
Maximum brightness of 415 nits, bright enough for use under direct sunlight. The minimum brightness is 2.3 nits, not as low as the Samsung AMOLED screen but low enough to read at night. Oppo also integrates a feature in ColorOS 6 that reduces eye strain when using the phone at minimum brightness in low light environments.
Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has a slightly cold color spectrum, although not as accurate as some other color bands, but Reno 10x Zoom still has a wide color range that supports DCI-P3 enough to stand out.
Screen specifications compare to some other phones
Software and interface
Oppo's customized Android interface, named ColorOS has actually grown a lot over time. This interface version on Reno 10x Zoom is beautiful and sophisticated, even with a distinct original style, far from the completely copied old ColorOS versions of iOS.
To minimize an application, you swipe up from the bottom edge. If you stop and hold between swiping operations, you will enter the Recent view, where the running applications are displayed as cards. To "Back", you just need to hold and swipe from the left or right edge of the screen, you will return to the previously used application.
Reno owns a fingerprint sensor in an optical screen, extremely fast, but ColorOS lacks security options. For example, there is no face unlock, cannot change the password key to the drawing lock. And this code only covers exactly 6 characters, no more, no less.
It also does not have a "Double tap to wake" option, you must press lightly or tap the screen to deceive the "Raise to wake" feature if you want to unlock it without picking up the phone.
But overall, ColorOS is quite smooth and easy to interact with.
As its name suggests, Reno 10x Zoom's camera is Oppo's competitive point. The following 3 cameras include: a 48MP main camera, aperture f / 1.7, an 8MP wide-angle camera and a 13MP telephoto camera. Reno's camera has an impressive focal range from 16mm to 160mm. Dual OIS provides maximum magnification without affecting image quality, even the smallest movement is amplified.
And of course, key-selling-point, camera cluster, 10x Zoom capability, 5 times optical zoom and hybrid zoom to reach 10x. Although it's not a 10x optical zoom, that's enough for you to admire.
Snapshot comparison between wide angle shooting and 10x zoom shooting
At night, the 16-160mm focal range does not make much sense, it is understandable because wide angle lens is not suitable for low light shooting. In addition, Reno 10x Zoom also has Oppo's new Ultra Night Mode 2.0 mode that works quite well, but still can't be compared to other flagships, especially with Pixel.

As a trend, Oppo Reno 10x Zoom also has a Portrait mode with the ability to blur the background. But the phone uses the main camera to shoot instead of telephoto lens. And because its focal length is about 27mm, you will encounter a distorted image. Oppo should use a telephoto lens like other phones: if a phone has a telephoto lens for portraits, it should use a telephoto lens to shoot in Portrait mode! In the daytime, Oppo's new phone is capable of taking superior photos, accurate colors, wide dynamic range, no need for post-production still beautiful. If you want, you can switch to 48MP mode instead of 12MP to get more detailed pictures (meaning that the image is heavier).
Selfie photos are also integrated Portrait mode. It has an extremely smooth skin smoothing filter that is turned on by default, but the advice given is that you should turn it off because it will make your skin look fake, just like a crayon. There is also the option to flip the selfie so you can use the front camera as a mirror.

The Reno's top speaker is placed in the "fish fins", pronouncing across the screen, only for the support of the transmitter located below that already works well.
Oppo Reno doesn't have a headphone jack, comes with a USB-C earbuds. The headphones are of good quality, the high and medium tones are extremely good while the bass is slightly lacking in force.
Like every 2019 flagship, Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is equipped with a Snapdragon 855, Qualcomm's leading chip, 8GB RAM, enough to fight all kinds of heavy games. 256GB memory, expandable with the presence of microSD card slot. You can use 2 SIMs but if you have added memory with a memory card, you can only use 1 SIM. Here are the performance parameters on AnTuTu benchmarking software, Geekbench 4 multi-core and single-core software.
Reno's Benchmark 10x Zoom Zoom on AnTuTu is quite impressive, ranking second only to the OnePlus 7 Pro
