While Valve has no formal steps for Dota 2 Autochess, many game brands have immediately entered and tried to build their own path. LoL launched "Truth School Truth", studio Drodo – "father" of the Autochess mod on Dota 2 also started making Autochess Mobile for itself.
However, with the position of a big guy in the game village, Valve also does not let players have to wait long and create a new version of Dota 2 Autochess called Dota Underlords
Underlords will be an independent game, based on Autochess's play style, which will fully support Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android. According to official information from Valve, the beta has been tested in the last few weeks and officially for players who own Dota 2 Battle Pass. Free beta version will be released in the near future.
Underlords is the second independent game to be released based on Dota 2, after the Artifact. However, while the Artifact has been dying, Underlords has more potential because of the large number of Autochess players. Like Autochess, Underlords allow 7 players to confront in a turn-based strategy game. In the announcement for the game, Valve said that unlike Dota 2, the winner's determination is not by reflex, but by superior tactical thinking.
Valve announced a few weeks ago that they are working on their own Auto Chess copy after failing to collaborate with Studio Drodo. "We had great conversations, but we both came to the conclusion that Valve and Drodo could not work directly with each other for many reasons."
Of course, the big reason that can't be said is that the standalone version of Auto Chess is now an exclusive game on Epic Games and a pawn in Epic's battle with Valve. Although it is unclear why Drodo agreed to let Valve create his own version of Autochess, the company that has talked a lot about Valve praises the company's efforts in developing the game.
