[DIY small classroom]Simply remove the brake noise

Although it has long been common sense that it is common sense to prohibit the adhesion of oil on the surface of the brake discs and brake discs, in order to prevent unpleasant sounds when braking, it is an indispensable task to apply lubricating oil in a timely manner.

When replacing the brake discs, regular inspections and oiling help can be used. Such maintenance can prevent strange sounds from resonating between the discs and the brake discs and maintain good braking performance.

The “not enough degree of running-in” between the film and the brake disc is a major cause of the abnormal noise

After replacing the worn out brake pads, have you ever been surprised by the abnormal noise when you gently hold the brake lever? One of the main reasons for the sound when braking is “brake discs and brand new brakes to make the discs unable to stick tightly.”

The surface of the brake disc that is worn by friction with the brake disc will produce large and small uneven friction marks, and the discs that have been used will also run into corresponding marks on the brake disc.

However, if only the brake disc is replaced with a new product with a flat surface at this time, it will not be in uniform contact due to insufficient running-in with the brake disc.

Therefore, the vibration generated during braking will be transmitted to the brake disc, resulting in an unpleasant sound during braking.

pa002▲After the brake pads are worn out, there will be dirt on the periphery of the brake calipers to make the pads worn out.

When changing to a new brake pad, clean the vicinity of the piston before pressing it back. If you use the exclusive piston spreader, you can push it back without hurting the piston.

・The unpleasant noise during braking is mainly caused by insufficient running-in between the disc and the disc.
・Especially the brand new disc brakes are not in uniform contact with the worn disc brakes, so it is easier to produce abnormal noises when braking.

The lubricating oil that absorbs the brake to make the film vibrate

The most effective way to reduce the abnormal noise during braking is to apply special lubricant inside the brake pad.

The brake pad surface will vibrate before the brake disc is completely running in. Therefore, lubricating oil can be applied to the outside of the brake pad to form a film between the brake calipers to absorb the vibration.

Applying lubricating oil to the surface of the brake pad will reduce the braking force, which is very dangerous. Therefore, it is necessary to use special brake pad lubricant for the outside of the brake pad.

The brake lubricant used in the demonstration here is Daytona made. Because it is sprayed, it is very easy to dry, the oil is very easy and even, and it can be assembled immediately.

pa003▲Compared with paste products, spray-type brake lubricants can be applied evenly. In order to prevent the lubricating oil from getting on the surface of the film, spray it directly on the surface with the outside facing up.

If you use paste-like lubricating oil, apply it to the center part of the contact with the brake caliper. In addition to the outer side of the brake pad, applying lubricating oil to the place where the thin curved metal sheet called the retainer and the pad touches can also effectively prevent the sound caused by vibration.

When using the lubricating pad, remember to be careful not to get on the brake disc and the surface of the pad. If it does get on it accidentally, please use a powerful parts cleaner to clean it thoroughly.

In addition, if a bolt is used to fix the brake caliper of the pad, the surface of the bolt should also be coated with a thin layer of lubricant.

pa004▲If the latch that determines the position of the brake pad is not fully inserted or the lubrication is not enough, it will also cause the brake pad to work poorly, which will result in sound when braking.

Use a non-woven cloth to clean the surface of the plug, and then apply a thin layer of lubricant to make the piece of lubricating oil before assembling.

・If you want to reduce the generation of abnormal noise, you only need to use exclusive lubricating oil.
・If you apply lubricant to the inside of the brake pad, it can absorb vibration and improve noise.
・In addition to the pads, lubricating oil on the retainer and plug will also have a good effect.

Lubricate the slide pin

If you are using floating brake calipers, in order to allow the brake calipers to move smoothly with the operation of the brake lever, it is also very important to oil the slide pin.

The slide pin and the bellows-shaped rubber dust cover are a set. After long-term use, they will begin to deteriorate and cause water to enter, and then rust will cause the brake caliper to operate worse, making the disc and the film often Contact, causing a sound when braking.

pa005▲If the slide pin of the floating brake caliper is stuck, the brake caliper itself will not be able to move, which will cause the brake disc and the brake disc to remain in contact with each other. This will also cause abnormal wear and abnormality. The main reason for the sound.

If you are using opposing piston brake calipers, basically there will be no slide pin. The slide pin can be removed when replacing the pad, so please check the state of the rubber dust boot and clean the slide pin, and then apply lubricant together.

Through such steps, the problem of brake sound after replacing the brake pads can be reduced.

・When using floating brake calipers, it is also very important to apply lubricating oil to the slide pin.
・Slide pin rusting after long-term use and deterioration is the cause of poor brake caliper operation and brake noise.
・If you use opposing piston brake calipers, there will be no slide pin.

When the sound of the rear brake is changed to a brand new one, use the lubricant to control it effectively

If you want to prevent the replacement of a new brake to make the brake sound during the film, applying the film lubricant is very effective.

In addition to replacing the pad, if the lubricating oil does not work well, you can wash it off and apply it again, so that it can restore its original effect of preventing abnormal noise.

※Because the brake device is an important part related to safety, if you have insufficient experience, it is still recommended that you go to the car dealer to ask for help to be more safe.
